The extended barrel on the civilian P90 looks dumb as hell.

Wow, I didn't think F2000 existed in real :). Thought it looked like some Halo thing ...

Everyone buys assault rifles but who owns a SUB-MACHINEGUN
Those two rifles are semi-automatic, not select-fire fully automatic. One shot per trigger pull only.

The PS90 is pretty cool...I handled the first one to be sold at my local gun shop, and it balances very well, although it's heavier than it looks. The "turret" in the magazine is nothing to worry about, just the way the feed mechanism is molded into the magazine body. The ammo makes a 90-degree turn in the mag just by going through the feedpath, there are no mechanical devices there that can break. From what I hear, the P90 system is exceedingly reliable.

The F2000 has the whole Star Wars look thing going for it, but $2000 is a lot of hay. You can get two stock AR-15s for that money, or one fully decked out with an ACOG sight and several cases of ammo to boot. The PS90 is unique enough to almost make it worth the price of admission, while the F2000 is just another .223 that eats out of AR magazines...there are already a lot of those on the market, and most of them are both cheaper and more proven technology.

id say f2000. the p90 has always seemed ugly in my opinion. plus doesnt the .223 have better balistics? not to mention the p90's ammo is expensive and the magazines seem like they are complex enough that they would break often. f2000 doesnt have an open bolt? eh, not like you're under fire and reload time matters.

well...to my knowledge those are all class 3 weapons which require a boatload of paperwork and even more money. there is a sig 551 on http://www.gunsamerica. com for something like 12 grand. thats a HUGE price price leap from the 2k fs2000. not to mention that the sig 550 series are very hard to come-by here in the states.

in answer to your question troybob, id go with the fs2000. if you want you can now get a nice black one for about $500 more.(looks alot nicer imo.)

Well, has not much to do with patriotism.
But yes, I am proud of my country if you want to know that.

Anyhow, what does this have to do with the topic?

You will have to agree with me that the two rifles showcased at the beginning of this thread are not really what a trained soldier would want to get for himself...

Routers, switches and whatnot. Networking equipment.

You know on handguns when you fire the last shot and the slide stays back? That's because it's leaving the bolt open so you can load the next magazine without having to press any extra buttons or switches. The F2000 doesn't do this.

In my opinion you should go for the P90 but that's just because I absolutely love the thing.

F2000. I like the P90, but it just looks silly with the longer barrel.
