    Re: Why so many losers?

I"m afraid I have to go to work in a quick hurry, so I only had time to skim the OP, but if I get the proper message from it (hopefully summarized at the start) then I can say I agree fully. It bothers me to see 10 one man squads running around, because as long as someone gets lots of kills it doesn't matter if the team wins or not. I don't agree that it's win or nothing, but I do agree that it's a team game designed to be played as a team. There are so many people who play it like a single player game.

Parish, I agree with your original post. I brought this up mid-April here: http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68579

If you were to read that entire thread, you'd see that most people only care about points, not winning. If you were to remove the ranking system/unlocks, teamwork would be brought to the forefront. We've played on BUXB before, and have had some great battles. Go back to 1942 or DC, no ranking/unlocks. Hell, we'd switch to the losing team just to make a difference!

Tricky thing, help me out fellows...

WOW, the BF2 head sheep shows himself. Like a log floating down stream just going with the flow. You are entitled to your opinion O mighty sheep...BAAAAH! Everybody else is an AZZHOLE!

That is what sheep do...point the finger at everyone else as they float down stream and take no responsibility or bother to look in the mirror.

Dude, get with the program! I hope you don't pass the sheep mentality down to your kids!

Parish... This is a great post and we need to remember that some just won't ever get it!

I hope some of the people here take reality as seriously as they take this game.

It's a game, have some fun with it. There are worse things in life that are going to go wrong than accidentally ending up on a ****ty team in a video game. Breathe in, relax and flow with the river Danielson.... breathe in, relax and flow with the river... breathe in, relax and flow with the river....

That's just my personal opinion though, not like it is going to mean much to some of you, but whatever, to each his own.

Is there something wrong with being a winner? I guess maybe if I were looking out through the slit in the burger re-heat trays at McDonalds, I might be jaded like you. Alas, I have a good income, 2 beautiful daughters and a smoking hot wife. I guess having nice things and being successful is a bad thing to someone in your station of life.

Also note, winning in BF2 has nothing to do with getting laid. That happens anytime I want it and is the benefit of all the other things I do in the real world. I don't spend time "punching the clown" in the bedroom with the lights off to the soft glow of internet porn as you do.

            Now thats FUNNY!!

              Why so many losers?

By definition, one (or a few) winner(s) and a whole lot of losers. There are many reasons for this, but it's mostly a lack of competence or willingness/drive.

Personally, I don't care or take responsibility for how other people play: I do my very best after having set myself a goal and if I achieve it, I win. For example, if I'm a heli and no one can take me down (aside from bad beats), I win. If I repeatedly beat the other helis, I win. If I win best vehicle, combat and kit, I win. Top of the board/medal, I win.

I think you get the point. I couldn't care less whether or not the round was 'won or lost' because I have no real control over others. As a result, my own performance compared with others will determine my winning or losing status.

AGreed entirely. Most servers I go to, my team always sucks or the other team is composed of a bunch of clanmates.

                  Re: Why so many losers?

I play the game to win.. I'm not playing it for points (Well actually that also a bit..) But I want to have a nice game fun imo is a good game and that is made by teamplay, Using Voice-Program to communicate better like Teamspeak, Ventrilo or using the BF2 Voip.. Squad up I didn't did this in the beginning of the game but now I always make a squad and invite people who don't squad up..

That's a good game and a fun game the tension of a Good game & Good opponents.. I don't like people who solo in their chopper I used to but now I know it's a 2 Seater and I'll take people in for one time and tell them how to do things. At least what I know about piloting choppers..

I really find it strange just like the Vehicle Whores who constantly are standing at the heavy duty vehicles.. I just grab a jeep or something and head into battle.. That's how you get points killing and keeping the enemy's away from the flags.

That's a good and fun game in my opinion. But maybe that's just me

WEll when you get in a public setting you have to deal with the public....Peolpe can be real morons and typically they are either 12 or have the mantality of a 12 year old....

It is after all just a game, I feel your pain bro but hey what can you do...Other than join a Team (clan) and play with them...Play un-ranked servers if you are so not worried about points and only want to win...oh but wait you are worried about points that's why you get ****ed that you lose on a ranked server

Either way their is nothing much you can do other then what I said...so basically like many things in life you just have to deal....

(I was in a full squad with voip) we cooperated 100% Winning is No1 objective. my accuracy sux because of covering fire that doesnt hit jack s#it ,but prevents the enemies from further movement so my teammates can move forward .. Teamwork IS FUN !

I know what it takes to win, and a lot of times I'm out there doing it, running from flag to flag, capping like a maniac, blah blah blah. A lot of times I feel like I'm one of the few on my team who's actually putting in the effort.

And to be truthful, sometimes it gets repetitious and boring.

So I like to mix it up once in a while by seeing how the other, lazier side lives, and hang around at already capped flags, sniping, waiting for tanks to come by with an AT missile, or trying to sneak onto the enemy side and blow up commander assets, even if it doesn't really make much of a difference. Fly some planes around and bomb some things, perhaps jump in the attack chopper and try to kill the enemy attack chopper.

There's gotta be a reason why 80% of my team isn't doing anything productive. It's gotta be SOME kind of fun, right?

Yes, I only read half, because I understand your point. I usually only play lone wolf as a sniper and I help my team out alot. I usually stay back at least 100 meters and kill the enemy that they can not see. But even as a lone wolf, I follow other lone wolf in packs and take flags or just kill the enemy. And why people do not join my squad when I am hiding by a flag is beyond me.

And SL, do not always rush in to a flag, stay behind and be a spawn pt, I know it cost you pts, but it may cost you the game or your position you worked so hard for.

I am still amazed to this day that there are soo many players out there who do not care if the team they are on wins or loses. I don't care what anyone says, you cannot be playing as a team and trying to accomplish the objectives of taking and holding a flag and lose by 250 points. Seriously though, don't you get tired of looking like newbie players by getting owned EVERY round? Does it not bother you to finish without even coming close to a win?

I just need some clarification on why the trend is to go all out for yourself and not apply your amazingly godlike skills in a jet or a tank or with C4 to actually help your team to win a round.

Now don't get me wrong. I want points as much as anyone, but the amazing thing is that if I just take flags and kill bad guys while doing so, I get some serious points. If I run in a group with my squad and actually TRY to win the round, the points come rolling in. It's awesome. The bonus is we often win! Incredible isn’t it?

** Yes this is all very sarcastic, but I am tired of people trying to be the lone wolf, godlike player and not doing crap to help their team. **

Even if you pay attention and say the medics are team players, most of the time you will notice they run out into the line of fire and die trying to revive. They did not make ANY effort to kill the bad guy, they just ran out for the revive score. How many times have you been killed, only to be revived and killed again in the same spot, buy the same bad guy who just killed the medic who revived you as well?

How about no one spotting armor? You spawn and die. You now know where the armor is, but you spawn somewhere else and the armor has moved. No one spotted it and there you go again dead.

It's been said a million times around here, but you guys need to get off you high points horse and try to help your teammates win. You may like the sound of a winning round once in a while. Yes, it is possible to get a 3.0 WL ratio. It is possible to not lose very other round.

** The "you" in this rant is not any one person. If you take it personal, then chances are, your one of the idiots who does not play to win. **
I write in giant caps to put across a pointless point that gets a point across to people that you do not need a point in order to make a point as long as you use caps as this makes it seem like you have a relative point.
Go peel green potatoes and dye your hamster pink. It makes more sense.
