I dont know man, its flawed logic, not all pubbers are retards (granted alot are), and a good chunk of players who play competetive pub as well.
Its just the elitist attitude some players have, thats all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, dont expect everyone to agree with it.
No, a huge majority is. There is nothing flawed about the logic. Performing under the pressures of a match situation against skilled players is far more impressive the owning pubbers.
Re: My Awesome BF2 Video...Battlefield: La Cantina
Pubs or not, I play the same either way. I've played in TWL and our clan was ranked #2 ranked those matches took far less skill than it does to stay alive on a 64 man Insomnia pub!
From what I can tell from your stats Monkeyman, you're an infantry player only so I don't expect you to give any props to players than can do ground pounding, armor and chopper combat all with the same amount of skill. I have no doubt if I played more infantry only I'd be better at it but as is my strengths are elsewhere.

Unlocks generally mean...no skill.
Then again, stock are FAR superior than unlocked.
But it's the fact that when you're in a pub, you're playing random people. When you're playing competition, skill is a little more noticeable. Go play BF2Pro and see how well you do. Then come and complain.
I'm on monk's side.
Granted the video was good. I'd rather see videos in the respect of Duck & Cover. All matchplay.
I played Comp, first season TWL with NOVA, and it wasn't nearly as much fun as playing in a full 64 man server. Soo yeah, your opinion is as pointless as Predators(too me).
Though, I do agree that in a Competition skill is alittle more noticable, but it has nothing to do with standard weapons or unlocks, strategy is everything.
Re: My Awesome BF2 Video...Battlefield: La Cantina
I'm with Tobacco 100%. In all the matches I played 8v8 or 12v12 there's far less to worry about it's easy to focus on the enemy but on a pub you're surrounded by base rapers, clans squading up together, and 32 guys trying to kill you. If you're on your own or with noobs in your squad it's more challenging that way.
Re: My Awesome BF2 Video...Battlefield: La Cantina
Thanks dude, again, really nice Video work RUOmegaRED, I'm just glad you weren't recording that day you(and your crew of engies-lol)were rapping us on Jalalabad. If you had of been on our Ventrilo server you would have heard alot of swearing..and for all you "Comp" players, RED is one of the classiest players I've ever come up against, never seen any trash talking, nothing but GG's..
I'll only go looking for you on a server after three or four "hits on the bong", without that, I'm just not ready.

Competition has nothing to do with unlocks/etc, but If you are using unlocks, that shows that you are playing in public servers, which take much less skill. Strategy in pubs is almost non existent, it's just every player for themselves, what pubs usually are in every game.

You must have been playing bad clans then. Download BFpro 1.5 from www.caleague.com, and see how much harder it is from normal pubbing.

Bad Clans? I don't know dude, it's like RUOmegaRED said, there are less peeps to worry about, you don't allways need eyes in the back of your head, that's the difference as I see it. Pubs can be kaotic, where as Comp matches have a flow to them that can be boring IMHO.
Of course using unlocks means you are playing in a Pub server, there are no unlocks in competition . I don't understand the point you were trying to make there?
I agree that alot of Pub servers are strategy_less, which only makes it easier for players who use strategy, to be effective, thus enhancing the FUN factor.
At the end of the day, this is a conversation that has two sides, of which I'll agree to disagree with you.

I have been playing online games with Red for around 5 yrs now (mostly against him) and I agree, he is a classy player and a very talented one at that.
To whoever is ripping on him for his kills being unimpressive, maybe you should play against him sometime, I am betting he would best you, but you probably wouldn't do that since its 'below' your level
and yeah Tobacco, there is no sense in arguing with a CAL player, they think they are the sh1t. From my experience playing against some of them in BF2C, they really are not as good as they prop themselves up to be, and if they lose there is always some excuse as to why.

I never said his kills where not unimpressive, just that there not "great" because it is from pubs. ANY game, if you make a frag movie from pubs, it's most likely not going to be good, because you don't know who you are playing, hell, they could of just bought the game, or have one arm, or some other possibility :P

No one is saying he isn't good, they are saying that killing pubbers isn't impressive. Red, getting big skill streaks against good (cal-m, not twl) teams is very hard. It is much much harder than pubbing and there is simply no way around that. Yes, playing twl scrubs is easy, but playing HOT, 20id, warchild, x6, etc, is very very hard. If you want to see how good you really are trying downloading bfpro and pubbing with the cal players sometime.
