The US Essex range

Is anyone botherd about the range of the US Essex, its pathetic, i got past south base and it still shot me down with a missle lock. if there's one thing they need to change its that decrease the range.

Ive never been shot down by the essex, that gun is weak as hell, they dont need to nerf it anymore.....

it was seriously weak in the patch before 1.3 since 1.3 hit its bin shootin down loads of planes not including myself.

yeah, I dunno; I think the Essex range is fine..

It definitely doesn't need nerfing; if anything, the CWIS guns could use a little more power to ward off base rapers. I've never been able to take down a plane using those things; only the S2A missiles..

yea i agree they need some new guns on the carrier cos base rapin sucks, but i want even near the carrier when it locked onto me.

i find the essex jus great, stops all those jets rapin the carrier. the gun is not very powerful, but the 8 missiles it has is unbeatable. those 8 missiles are really gd!

You gotta stop flying into the airdefense engagement zone.

Approach the carrier from the bow area where the ship itself masks you from being seen until it's too late.

Or approach it from above and dive about 70-80 degrees steep taking out the airdefense. Then you can come around and feast on the soft and chewy noobs waiting on the deck instead of using any number of boats.

The gun is not as powerful as it used to be but more than adequate in certain engagement profiles.

The only time I ever think to use the gun is if the enemy jet is already smoking; otherwise, I stick with missiles. If I am dealing with an enemy chopper or boat tho, the guns are great.

actually gunna have to bring summat to peoples attention that ive just rememberd, when i wa tryin to shoot the commander outta the essex he shot me down using only the cannon no missles and i had a full bar of life on the jet so the cannon aint that weak

Don't fly the J-10 and you wont have that problem :laugh:



Don't rape the carrier, and you will lower your chances even more!


If ANYTHING... they need to make that **** even MORE powerful, and give it more range, with more missles..

Maybe a random missile hit because it happens to me alot. I'll be flting and look behind and see nothing suddenly there's a lock on me look behind again and start doing evasive manouvers and 1 missile will jsut come out of nowhere and either miss or hit.
