What the hell is that matter with you all, this is a sand box game, play it how you want to. If you enjoy sniping, then snipe, if you enjoy running arround like a counter strike clown in karkand, then run arround like a counterstrike clown in karkand. We are doing something we enjoy and thats what makes the differnce. I've stayed behind and covered the command assets before and had the ppl who I was killing waste valuable resources comming after me as a resolt. Its a great feeling to see how far away you can make a kill.

Your saying, great the Pistol dosn't make you good in CQC because everyone has it, how may ppl bother to use it, they really don't realize how good a weapon it is. Sure its not gonna help if a whole squad is on your tail, but against 1 to 2 guys I can get away breathing. Most of you ppl are on the damn front line, if it wasn't for the random [l96a1] popping up, you'd be loosing alot more flags on your tail.

This is MY sandbox. Get out or I'll get my dad to beat your dad up.

I agree, this game should be played how you want, like a sandbox. If you like to snipe, then by all means snipe! However, that doesn't mean that you should go around stating things as facts which are, to say the least, not factual. Sniper is the worst 'teamwork' kit in the game. Worst. For every time a sniper picked someone off who was trying to get me, there were probably 10 cases where medics revived me after I died, and we both moved on to cap/defend a flag. Guess what, BF is won by capping flags and holding them, not shooting people from a far ways off and draining them of one ticket at a time.

Moreover, what right do you have to call anyone an 'infantry wh0re'? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it weren't for infantry people, you wouldn't have anyone to snipe. And wouldn't being a sniper make you an 'infantry wh0re' as well? Would you like some fries with your hypocrisy?

And who here has complained about stats so far (or, for that matter, mentioned slitting their wrists - exaggerate much do you?)? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Seems like that was all you.

Ok, you have a lot of fair points and you have beaten me on most of them apart from sniper being the worst teamwork kit in the game, so what one the other kits you get points for doing things, that doesnt make them better, thats all you seem to be talking about, the kits that give you POINTS. The tactics side is what will get you more points in the long run, yay I got a revive score +2 woooooo! When you can defend the flag and in lots of cases save the game for your team, which one would you choose?

When exactly did I mention getting points? I mentioned teamwork ability, but I don't believe I ever once mentioned getting points as far as rating how useful a class is. If you'd be so kind as to quote the post in which I did so I will retract.

Now then, teamwork ability. Spec Ops, AT, and Engineer can take out vehicles. Medic can revive and heal. Support gives out ammo (AT guys run out of rockets fast on vehicle maps). Engineers fix stuff. Spec Ops, Assault, and Medic (and in real CQC, Engineer and AT) are decent at midranged to close range fighting, where most flag capturing is done. The only thing snipers are good for is killing infantry, and not even in the same way Assault is, since Assault has the luxury of body armour and a full-auto (or burst-fire) AR and can therefore take flags. Again, snipers are not useless, and they do have some small teamwork elements to them (someone earlier mentioned flag defense), but it still stands that of the seven classes, sniper has the least ability overall to help the team.

All i do is snipe. I get ragged on alot by the guys i play with, but it's what i enjoy. I'd love to meet up with ya for a competition or something. However at this time my system is down.

Ok...

1, this is a thread that was posted with the intention of alerting people who enjoy playing the sniper kit of a new community that has emerged that is based around this kit.
The community is there but is new. It is welcoming new members. It has some 'world class' snipers in it already so if you're '1337' with a scope you may find like minded and skilled people to buddy up with or contend with. If you are a bit of a sniper nubie but wanna learn then there will be plenty of tips tricks and the like all based around this one kit.
There will also be (as mentioned) events. It's not everyones cup of tea but we held a 'Sniper Competition' last week and loads of people turned up (not all who would call themselves a sniper player) and all had a bloody good time. It's not how I would want to play BF2 all the time but it was one hell of a laugh.
More such events are being planned.

2, It's pretty irrelevant which kit would be top or bottom of the 'teamplay' list. It all depends on the player. I've been ****ed off by any number of medics reviving me while we're still in a **** storm (typically by using 'zap-n-go') only to get dead again real quick. I've seen AT guys acting as snipers but without the tallent. The number of nade-happy support guys who've blown me up while I was greying out a flag is just silly.
My point is that it's the player that counts
. I have seen some of these guys (I'm no sniper) wandering about with an M95 and poppping it into the chest of troopers at will (always drops them to 2 bars of health), if that doesn't make them run for cover or a medic then you know that any pistol will bring them down in no time, let alone an AR. Add that to the long range capability and the remote defence that claymores provide and you have a potant team player (when played right).

How can everybody say sniper is not a god teamwork player. How many of you shoot someone once and they die, lot of the time it is because a sniper already wounded him 98%. I get a crap load of kill asists because of wounding infantry. If someone is far away and running ill pop him in the chest, and about 10 sec later boom kill asist, I just helped someone get a kill.

Also when you guys take flags there are snipers watching you ready to alert you to ppl comming around the corner.

How does that not help the team??????
