Re: Seriously I shot you in the face.

The reason I described running towards and away from each other was because I know not to lead my shot. lag shooting will not be a factor in this scenario. I suggest reading my post again. My reason for posting all this is because I have reason to believe hitboxes on the backside of character models may be bugged. I also see we started online gaming at around the same time. I started in Mechwarrior 3 and Kingpin: Life of Crime man (miss those ones) then moved on to CS for a couple of years. bf1942 and then back to CS. I have been playin bf2 since release date like yourself.

I have seen some weirdness that you have described though, with the running away from each other, but this was something completely different.

Just my friend and I were in an empty server screwing around, I shot at him with the sniper rifle. I never got any kind of hit animation on him, he heard himself get hit and got that stupid little 'i been hit' indicator on his screen, he took no damage lol.

1/3 of the time? I hate being killed by a single shot on turn around. How great would that guy feel!

It's not easy to get a decent hit with a rifle. And it's a practical part in a war.
I don't play close quarters with it though, stab or pistol for that.

Re: Seriously I shot you in the face.

I had a strange one today, just capping the hotel at Karkand (and for once no one was inside it!), I was prone and looking towards the ladder, in the direction of the US base.

Up comes Mr MEC, he also goes prone, and we're both face to face... only a few feet apart.
So, as I'm armed with the PKM, I decide "why bother using the sight" and unload about 10-15 rounds at his face..... and I die

My ping was great, no lag stutter throughout the entire game(s), and this guy wasn't jerking all over the shop, so I was amazed he lived.

Either I'm carp with the PKM, likely as I think I've used it about 8 times since unlock, or this 'cone' is evil!

          Scort.

Happens sometimes. I thought the PKM was a pretty cool weapon when I unlocked it and blown away some SF type trying to destroy the artillary, having been accostumed to short range DAO-12 skirmishes. Not long later I had an infantry guy in my sights from about 20 feet away, opened fire and not one hit landed. he turns round and G3's me to buggery.

Edit: IF BF2 was realistic there would be no need for PRMM would there?

G3s are incredibly accurate, but run out on ammo. If he hadn't killed you, he'd be screwed til reload. Take your time with shots, click away but not too fast (never hold unless point blank). As soon as it starts spraying your gonna miss, especially over distance. Just stop and take your time. Drop down and scope him if needs be.

Maybe someone shot you from behind also. Support is a good choice for defending hotel if look both ways. Blast anyone away til they grenade ya
Edit: Hit them on way up over ladder.

Capping the hotel is incredibly easy with the PKM. . . unless your enemies are smart. Usually I sit behind the stairwell, constantly looking back and forth, and if I have a good commander who uses the UAV, he's nice enough to support me with it. If enemies know you're up there though, well get an umbrella because nades start raining down. Also, the G3 is a good choice against one or two rushing enemies, but against waves you'd better get a support gun.
