Wow, you mean other AT use there machine guns/shotguns I figured I was the only one. The Dao 12 is pretty good but ive leaned back to the smgs since the patch that made them more accurate. Still doesnt kill them as quickly as the losers who use rockets regardless of the distance though.
It's fun, but it screws up ratio
Sometimes you get 5 killes in a row up in an alley, the next time you end up dying 4 times in a row without even seeing an enemy target.
Incidentally, enemy AT soldiers who carry the pea-shooter are my favorite prey. They are so helpless against DAO attacks - at least most of the time. I've had my good runs with the P90/MP5/PP19 too but I usually went for the element of surprise so it wasn't really hard to get the kills. But with the DAO you can even defend in alley where the assault or supporter already start shooting at you. All you need to do is outstrafe them in a circular motion. Their gun will lose all it's accuracy when they turn circles trying to follow your motion around them.
Not sure if this illustration correctly describes what I'm trying to explain
One of the better guns while i still played BF2 (5 months ago....) yea, great on karkand (bad memory of n00btubers and tank whores) as everybody is up close and personal in Karkand.
its a nice weapon @ close range ofcourse but its the reload killing the weapon... if you shot your hole weapon empty it takes ages!!! but i'll give it a 8 on a scale of 10
The problem with the circular strafing motion in BF2 is that most guns lose a lot of their accuracy - not the shotguns.
For example try to outstrafe someone while you're shooting the PKM. In my experience you'll end up dead within a few instances without even slightly damaging the target you intended to hit. The deviation adds so much while standing and moving that it gives spray'n pray a whole new meaning.
You can also abort the reloading process easily by switching to another weapon then back to the DAO. The shells loaded so far will remain in the gun. Very neat when you get interrupted during reload.
Still better than SMGs period (unless they modded the accuracy/damage of the SMGs AGAIN), cuz the pistol is more accurate than the SMG at medium range, so DAO pwns the SMGs in CQC, and pistol pwns both in medium/long.
You're right AlphaNut. Ofcourse, PKM sucks when moving (or even standing!), but for example L96 is not so bad for me - but i'm noob so dont't take seriously everything I say
I can't understand why people praise the DAO so highly. It is an OK gun but no better. It takes 2 shots MINIMUM to put one guy down, more likely 3 shots. It takes my AK-101 3 shots to put you down as well, and guess what I will fire my three a lot faster than you will, and at the range where the DAO is effective I wont miss either.
Any competent player with any assault rifle will put a DAO guy down first. The reload time is a nightmare and it has ZERO range. Even at 20 feet it is more or less useless.
In some cases it is better than the smgs but not by a long way. It may be the best of the bunch of the AT weapons, but it is still crappy compared to assault rifles.
The reason you can't understand why people praise the DAO so highly is simple: You're not an AT guy. Simple as that. You don't fight tanks. Of course the AK is a better overall weapon then the DAO. But I want to see you take out a tank with the 101
I've had my good share of kills against assault classes. It is imho not true that any competent player will put any DAO guy down first.
I have used this and I think it is a pretty good weapon at close range. I once took down 5 guys in a row with this thing. Anyway I want opinions..
When BF2 was frist released and I picked it up off someone(Strike At Karkand Gatehouse flag), I was on a killing spree. It was awesome! Have it now, and still use it. :)
