I'm going with the PS3, and plan on avoiding XBox like the plague. Why? Several reasons:

1) Screw Microsoft
2) Halo is not that great of a game, also for a couple reasons:
a. I am not into that sci-fi crap
b. Console-based first-person shooters are never fun for me. I'll stick with PC.
3)

yea halo 3 is gonna be sooooo sick
and the 360 owns all

I'd hate to end up like that.

I must add, though, that Sony has dissapointed me. They're still in that pattern of making promises they can't deliver. Either way, I'm waiting for MGS4, then I'll buy a PS3. Hopefully by then the price will have dropped.

I also want to say, please stop saying that PS3 won't have any good launch games. That's a ridiculous thing to judge a console on. You remember PS2's launch titles? Yeah, me neither. You see what the end result was; PS2 is still a monster, and tons of hit games have been released. Besides, the more I see 360 fans insisting that their console is the second coming of Christ, the more I am willing to wait for my PS3.

It's obvious Quack that you've ignored the fact that there are fanboys for every console. I could easily say aswell that i've seen ps3 fans insisting that their console is 'the second comming christ' with it's 'amazing blue-ray drive' and 'cell processor', so to take a side over what one or two people say from the other, is pretty stupid. You've seen the playstation forums right? Fanboy alert. Wich i can say the same for the xbox forums and nintendo forums. And the 360 isn't all about Halo3.

I own a PS2 and a PS1 before that so i'm gonna have to say PS3. I'm a Playstation gamer all the way when it comes to consoles.:salute:

I agree with BigFinger, the PS2 was garbage when it first came out (Summoner for example)

I don't plan on ever getting another console, unless one gets designed into a LCD or Plasma monitor. Have a PS2 that doesn't get much use. PC's are much better for gaming, and the consoles and their games are no longer a good value.

You don't get it, man. You really shouldn't take everything so literally. If I don't understand "all about," then it's clear that you don't understand the subtleties of dialogue. What I obviously meant was Halo is a huge selling point for the XBox. I don't like Halo, so that takes away a lot of the glamour of the 360 (for me). To take me so literally is a pretty cheap way to go about a discussion. I mean, if I said I look forward to buying a 360 when pigs learn to fly, would you rip on me for being an idiot who thinks pigs can learn to fly?

Either way, my original argument stands. There will be great games for each system. Some will be exclusive, for example, MGS4 and Halo 3. Halo is not my cup of tea, MGS4 is. Why should I buy a 360 when one of the major exclusives is a game I have no interest buying? And please, feel free to answer these questions, they're not rhetorical. I'll throw in one or two more, as I'm curious: isn't Halo 3 the most hyped and eagerly-awaited game coming out for the 360? If not, what is?

PS3. Never wanted an xbox, and now really only prefer playstations. Plus, it should sh*t in xbox 360s face soon..
Halo is only fun for 2 hours single player (finished night of release). Then at a friends place with 2 TVs and 8 players. Else.. Yeah I really don't have much for xbox in general. No other games on it I like that aren't on ps2 (originally too). Jade Empire looked tasty, but nevermind, never ended up playing it.

Are you suprised i answered the way i did, because you didn't just shove it out there that you're kidding through all of what you say. If that's what you're trying to get out to me, wich is stupid to say why i don't understand that you arn't being serious, when most of this thread has been quiet serious. So don't get on my case for that. I'm judging the system also on the system, (suprise) and the company it's comming from, not mainly by it's games. Sony is arrogant, and think so highly of themselves. It is not a company i'd like to be speaking to when i'd have to. While as you can see from microsoft, they think much more about the customer. Not like sony '' our this, we've that '' '' Oh and here's a price of $600, a blue-ray drive you may or may not use for movies, even if you have an hdtv to really use it on, alot alot alot of cg videos, oh and the main cg video we said was real 'killzone2', we arn't going to show it at e3 06, and we still will be showing cg videos at e3 06 anywase, also, we did steal nintendo's controller idea and our developers only knew of this add on weeks ahead of e3 when we showed it, that's because we are getting afraid and we have to steal our competitors' ideas. '' No thanks sony. Also, for your last two questions:

Halo is liked by many xbox gamers, it's truely what brought us all togethor online with the xbox and halo2, and yes many of us are looking forward to halo3 to continue the great story, and gameplay. But, yes there are also xbox gamers who don't like halo that much. They say it's, alright, but arn't 'eagerly awaiting' it. As you said, for some it's being quiet hyped, but for others it just isn't their 'cup of tea'. Those people are most likely looking forward to more of gears of war, forza 2, fable 2, mass effect, lost planet, ect. All of wich are equally hyped.

You're right, it's very difficult to judge the tone of what someone says through text (at least I think that is what you were getting at). This would be a much more interesting conversation, I think, if it was carried out in person. Unfortunately, we only have this forum.

It's sad, but I have to agree with your assessment of Sony (Don't get me wrong--it's not sad that I'm agreeing with you, it's sad that Sony is acting the way they are). They are being quite arrogant, but it is justified (kind of). We all know that, no matter what, Sony will sell millions of PS3s. For some reason, Sony thinks that gives them the right to do what they're doing, and that could alienate some potential buyers. Unfortunately, when it comes down to it, I am willing to choose a system based on the games, and PS3 looks to have the games I want.

At the end of the day, it's just entertainment. You'll have fun with the console you choose, and I'll have fun with the one I choose, right?

Of course, i'd actually like to play MGS4 aswell, but i just don't have the money, lol. They'll probably have demos up and running at best buy (and other storess) like they do with the 360 so i'll try it there lol.

Anyone checked out the video's for Killzone2 and MGS4 ? MG looks incredible, and Killzone has a physics/playability I can't wait to try out

I doubt Sony will sell even close to the PS2. They've managed to **** up in just about every way. The only reason to buy one now is for a few games that Sony owns. MS has done just about everything right this time. There is no reason why they won't crush the PS3.
