Why dont they also make a cap on the amount of time a person can fly too.? That way more people would get a go at it. Say a 50/50 ratio, you have a global hours of 100, you can only fly 50. I'm sure that would **** a lot of people off but it would even the playing field a little.
40hrs per week IRL...
Whatever happened to good ol sportsmanship? I was waiting with a dude for a helo to spawn, He flew it last,... waited for me to take command, then gunned for me, I died, gunned for him,...... aaannnd so-on.....
it's not up to you to decide who is good and who is not, vehicles remain available to ALL players no matter what their skill level is...
Indian, that's true, but I shouldn't have to deal with their noobness / stupidity. There is Singleplayer to practice. I don't like the idea of having a noob pilot to crash a fully loaded Blackhawk, do you?
And I don't want to decide if they are good or not, but have someone else certified to decide it. Or at least a bot that can do a similar job.

no offense I will give up a plane or helo to a newb so that they may learn, or jump into the gunner seat to help them learn..

isnt this game supposed to be about TEAMWORK????
it's not about I...
I wish more people had that attitude. Its like the pilot who redzones his gunner for not shooting correctly, but yet taking no time to find out if the gunner knows exactly what hes doing or explaining it to him. Too many experts and not enough teachers.
i would call myself a decent Pilot.. i'm First Sergeant i learned it when i was gunnery, so if they would do some of this with licensce or somethin' i would go nuts! every1 needs 2 learn it sometime...... i think most of the people don't understand that crappy flyers will die in seconds, that means you can fly the next time, everytime they fly a few seconds they will learn someting so just deal with it how it is and stop complaining about .... EVERYTHING!!
An example of a test to get Blackhawk certified could be to have to pick up some bots off a mountain side. The terrain would be tricky and you'd have to have good situational awareness in order to make a succesful pickup without wrecking on a tree.
APC certification could be to move from point A to point B through a hotzone with a full load of troops.
Certs could be tier based too, requiring you to become transport certified before moving onto attack chopper, or APCs before Tanks.
I'm really not sure about the whole idea tho. Prolly it would be required as a core feature for a future game that would be designed with this in mind.
Imagine it now, some nub throws a tanty for not being "allowed" to get in a heli and decides to strap some c4 to it and blow the pilot/gunner/occupants out of the sky.

first come first served... and if you've been waiting to fly, then you are not helping your team. your boots could be on land taking a flag, and not waiting for a "turn."
and speaking about newcomers to the game, i like picking those new players up for their first real ride . although not necessarily the same newcomers, i have to be rude to some when they prove how well they can fly [not], and they keep running back "to ze choppa'." i will usually, if on the carrier, just go running, and dive off the carrier grabbin a RIB intstead.:p
and believe me, i'm not being selfish by leaving this inexperienced pilot by himself, i'm doing it for the team. cuz if there is an experienced jet pilot in the air, there is only one person i want flying the chopper. but like i said if someone beats me to it, i'll find a way to help the team. my stats arent the best, but they're not the worst (plus my stats are spread out over several accounts, and many unranked hours ).
Good times. As for the thread, well... my thoughts on the topic are well known: a certification/licensing system with skill priority should be implemented to increase performance and competition.
Without digging up the specific details from another thread, it would prioritize the better pilots/gunners while still allowing others in the vehicles. A, B, C, D and unlicensed levels...
Anyway, if anyone (EA/DICE, I'm looking in your direction) is interested in the details, I will dig them up.
OMG, I can see it now......A whole generation of Kids who learnt to fly on Bf2, with it`s uber realism, applyng for airline careers, Screaming "But I`m a certified Jet Pilot".............

They lack the ability to practice, they therefore get no respect.
Singleplayer allows players to fly the planes, heli's, drive tanks, apc, car, whatever! About time they used it.
As for whores, personally i'd moderate that on my own server (lack of respect to other players to keep flying if other people been waiting) but its something not everyone takes so lightly. TKing results.
I'm a 1st Lt and I good in chopper/jets I learn by crashing them into friendlies, the ground 2 seconds after take off etc etc.
So what if you take a test, that doesnt stop people from still crashing choppers etc.
Clans are the worst players in the game when it comes to team spirit, somehow if theres more than one they seem to think they have a right to the chopper and will crash it if you get in or tk you with an M95. It's 1st come 1st serve. End of story.
At least n00b pilots/newbs are prepared to step aside now and again and let me show them how its done, more than one occasion ive been with a beginner and hes steped aside and watched me fly/asked question etc and learned something.
Of course there are exceptions some people are just idiots. But DEAL WITH IT, the way you talk it's as if you were born yesterday and have no idea what the real online multiplayer gaming is like.

OMG, I know it'd not be easy to implement this kind of thing, but I think this is needed.
I've had enough noobs crashing the helo 2 secs after take-off, or just fly around with no idea on what he is doing. I am not the "OMGL33tH4xsloi" chopper pilot, but at least I can survive decently alone, or with a good gunner.
I can't believe the game is out for so much time and there are still people clueless when they take the pilot seat. No more ticket wasting, we need a license test before people is allowed to fly.
its already been said that this game is a arcady game not a simulation so theres no point of putting tests for license's.
