I really wish the Assualt kit was a little better. I think it should have 3 or 4 smoke gernades rather than 1
I can't believe spec-ops doen't have some type of goggles, like heat sensory or some kind of tracker you can shoot on to people. The amount of things bf2 developers could of done, you think they could do better than this.
Yeah... IR tracking googles would be ultra cool on daylight maps.
"Look! Everything is WHITE! Cool!!!"
:p
Sorry to be 4nal but i think you're confusing with night vision. infrared in daylight does not make everything white its just a different part of the spectrum

lol, nice one.
The assualt class could do with bumping up, increasing the the splash for the grenade launcher just a little would be nice for taking out vechiles, but of course it would be a open to abuse again.
anit-tank is my least fav. it can be very usefull with 2 anti-tank's but solo taking out a tank thats near something that repairs.. :s most of the time after 1 shot he will know where it came from (Red Dmg. bars) so you will need 2 get a different spot to kick his ass.... by the time you get there hes already repaired.... (for the most)
If you have another anti-tank dude with ya it is much easier... but you will need Teamplay... which most of the people don't "have"...
Teamplay?....Teamplay...??
has any1 found Teamplay I lost him a few years ago....
Personally I tihnk "Assault" was misnamed, and mis kitted out origininally. I can't believe EA/Dice wanted people bunny hopping insta gibbing with the M203 and GP-30's. Thats not what they are used for IRL.
The arming time they have in the game now is more acceptable. I don't think it was the explode on impact as soon as fired that annoyed me, more the fact they were drectly over head the explosion when it happened.
I'd suggest they INCREASE the damage area of the grenade launchers. Make the M203 and GP-30's long ranged fire support. IRL thats what the 30mm and 40mm grenades are used for. They bridge the gap between mortars and hand thrown grenades.
In BF2 as it is now, the hand grenade is a better weapon. Flies almost as far, ,does bigger damage, and it is actually USEFUL.
The Assault kit should have been tagged "fire support" or "grenadier", not "Assault".
Spec Ops? yeah. I agree. They are about 1/2 steps above useless. I personally play it when I want to see my name up in lights as"best Spec Ops". Seriously, to be useful all they need to do is make it so they don't show up on UAV, and can't be spotted by the commander through his map.
Imagine the poor commander trying to explain to a squad where the enemy squad leader is using VOIP. It would be hilarious. Just a little tweak to make things harder.
And give them the laser designator back. Make it so if they are "painting" a target the Arty is 30% more accurate. Imagine them painting a tank when the arty comes in. Badabooooom.
Drawback, well you can't shoot anyone with a laser :)
i love assault but the guns arn't powerfull enough to make up for its faults like you said many other kits guns are more then good enough at taking out infantry, i wouldn't mind seeing the nade launcher doing a little bit more dammage to vehicles and tanks, not a whole lot but after 5-6 shots on a tank and maybe its just my video card but smoke nades don't seem to help you took much, i can still see people pretty easly

It's called pushing the game out the door before it's finished. Many things got left out so the game could be released when it did.
It's totally unrealistic to have mostly medics running around for many reasons.
1. IRL Medics might carry a pistol and a knife for combat.
2. A guy just doesn't survive being shocked in the chest 5 times AFTER being shot and "killed" 5 times.
Onto other kits.
IRL, what does your average USMC soldier probably carry? The M16. Now since the medic really does not carry this weapon it means we point to the assault class. While they may not have the GL attached, I think your average bread 'n butter soldier has an M16, a knife, grenades of some kind, and some other specialized weapon. Might be smoke nades, or flashbangs. Might even be some kind of AT weapon. If they are a veteran soldier they may also be carrying a pistol picked up off a dead officier or enemy solder.
Which brings me around for another rant. It does not take 3 shots to the head to kill a solder. I don't care if the ammo is 9mm or .45, it takes AT THE MOST two shots before he really stops moving. Shooting him 5 times in the chest to get him to die? No. His heart has burst at maybe even shot 3 but more likely shot 4. I HATE pistols in BF2, they are incredibly underpowered.
i think the assault class could be more useful. see, i dont think the nade launcher would have been nerfed if EA/DICE had basically made the nade launcher an unlock. it wouldnt have been nerfed so early in the games life, or possibly not at all. you would have less noobs complaining about it it because most people playing the game, unlock other classes before assault.
thought, really what i think is EA/DICE totally screwed up in the first place with these kits. like it was said before, assault is pretty much useless when you can just be a medic. what they should have done was made sure that every class in the game had a critical function that isnt completely useless.
