Misleading Kit Names (Just a rant)

Sorry if you guys have witnessed similar whining and moaning before, but I just figured I'd share my $0.02 with everyone.

Lately, I've come to the realization of something that has haunted me since the release of Battlefield 2 -- the misleading names of each kit.

Now don't get me wrong: Some serve their name well, but others are just flat out questionable.

Special Forces - Albeit being called "Special Forces", this kit does little to help you achieve the ability of being stealthy as someone in the Special Forces is supposed to be. First of all, you have a silenced pistol - hey, that's a plus - but once you realize that it takes about 50 shots to kill someone with it, you figure out that it serves as something to get you killed rather than to silently take out a foe.
Then you have the C4 that can only be tossed about 5 inches in front of you, meaning that to plant one on a vehicle, the person driving has to be a moron. If you have high hopes of planting C4 on a moving vehicle, you're in bad luck because it's very difficult if the person behind the controls has any experience whatsoever.

Assault - Perhaps the most useless class known to mankind? Besides the noob tube - which is decent, but not worthy of a decision to use this class - the "Assault" class is hardly something you would want to use for head-on attacks, or Assaults!.
The Assault class does give you a great assault rifle to take out enemy infantry, but it's not so fun once you figure out just how worthless you are versus any enemy vehicle what-so-ever; and then you must remember the fact that besides one lousy smoke grenade (yes, ONE! WTF?), you are practically useless when it comes to actually assaulting the enemy.
Why not give the Assault class anti-tank grenades instead of frag grenades? Just my opinion, although it will never happen.

Medic - Better than assaulting than the Assault kit itself! Shoot, kill, heal yourself, reload, repeat. Not to mention you even have grenades and a weapon just as good as in the Assault kit! WTF!? Major malfunction!

The Sniper, Support, Engineer, and Anti-Tank kits are all fine in my book, but the three kits above are the ones that I really think are just whacked up.

    Does anyone else agree? Disagree?

Please do not flame; just my opinions! :)

Are you nuts to say this..do you wanna feel the flame of a million medics rushing out to torch you??!! Seriously phear the Bf2 love child!

Seriously your so right about everything you said. Spec Ops C4 was of use when able to be thrown, you could toss it at vehicles instead of the new run up place it gently and walk away..unless you use the new exploit..which I dont. Spec Ops..Its just a medic without heals, revives, and worse damage..and C4 that is moderately helpful as it was due to C4 chuckers.

Assualt..lol...lol..you wanna assualt something be a medic or support.

I cant wait till we get new infantry maps so we can have more maps that are 60% medics, 20% Snipers, 10% AT, 5% Support and other random classes..

      Assault is underrated.
The G3 is the heaviest damage dealer the whole game (does almost as much as the PKM, but has a faster rate of fire). Yes, the grenade launchers have been over nerfed IMHO. You have to land your shots so damned close that you're prolly better off just shootin the guy. Still, it's an armoured class that packs some mean rifles that are good in flexible circumstances.

Medics... I'm still not sure why they gave 'em the G6e. The rifle is overpowered for the classes role. The SCAR-L prolly would have made a better choice (it's useless as a Spec-ops unlock anyway).

As for Spec ops, I wouldn't mind seeing the default C4 toss distance moved up a bit. Not for lobbing so much as for useful placement. I used to have fun stickin C4 to all sorts of interesting places (over doors, up trees, off lightposts, etc) to create some very amusing traps. However, one major complaint was that spec-ops was better at killing vehicles than the AT class... so restoring it's ability to do that would be to reopen old wounds. On the stealside, you do know that spec-ops is the only class that's invisable to Scans and UAVs as long as you're not moving, right?

The Medic part... It's not misleading. What's misleading is the way people use the kit. Hey, they could never engage, but that's their choice.

I can personally varify it. I've spent a lot of time as commander. I've run scans just after an asset gets trashed and had nothing show up... only to have something else go boom shortly there after.

            Manual spotting still works tho.

Yes they are... but only if they are NOT moving.
It's in the manual (although we know that thing is wrong in more than one place) and I've seen it in-game.

Thing is, it's impossible for a spec opps player to predict when a scan is going to happen and thus it's of very limited use.

technically it is Special OPs not forces

I really wish the Assualt kit was a little better. I think it should have 3 or 4 smoke gernades rather than 1

i agree special forces class is rather crap in only one way, no stealth to do your special jobs.

assault, yup boring class, smoke that lasts all of 4 seconds, a GL that requires quite a close shot to kill instead of it being nerfed with just minimum arm distance.

i rarely play those 2. infact i rarely play any of the classes except sniper and medic. i could give reasons for why the classes are crap to play, but i really cant be arsed to.

but i really do hate snipers and spec ops having NO STEALTH.

Specs can be invisible but a sniper isn't...lol

I'd like the AT kit to have AT mines and/or stingers......it could be a pick up kit like the M95 in DC
