BF2 is Dying but there is an other problem...BF2142 is coming so ea dont really care about bf2 dying all they care is the money they made with it so now even if we are saying on every existing forum that bf2 is dying ea will say...yeah yeah the next patch is coming we gonna fix it...thats it.

Who cares, BF3 is on the way. And i already know of someone who fiddled with the engine, tank shells can blow holes through buildings, soldiers leave footsteps in the ground, etc. Cant wait for that i know minimum ram requirement is 2 gig. EA knows BF2 was a huge hit, its because people like modern day warfare and they can relate to it. Thats why.

No u got it wrong, BF2 and Bf 2142 are 2 different games. 2142 is effectively a money making expansion pack for the flawed BF2 engine. BF3 will be an entirely new game engine, supposedly with destroyable buildings etc

I guess I incorrectly assumed that BF3=BF2142. I knew BF2 and 2142 were two different games though.

If the destroyable building thing is true then I can't wait for it to come out. I'll probably have to go get one of those new physics cards though. Do you have a link to any BF3 material?

To you REVOLUTION i will get the name of the new engine. I know which university is testing out the engine and working with EA. But BF3 is still ages away. As for 2142 its the same engine as BF2 pretty much a mod to me. But i will get more info. For those of you who dont believe me dont, but im not bull****ting to anyone. All my mate said is the new engine is awesome, they are running it on some hefty machines at the moment but it will most likely get scaled down a bit for the market. But like i said the engine is still getting tested.

Ive had about 3 CTD since patch, and thats about it. The patches havent mest anything up for me, so it must suck for the people will all the problems. I will be playing BF2 till i find a new game.

Although the recent patches have screwed up some people's ability to "enjoy" the game, you my friends are in the extreme minority. For the vast overwhelming majority myself included, the regular gamers have gotten a full year of fun out of the game, and have seen Wake Island 2007 released for free, and two fairly priced bonus packs. Special forces didnt do too well, but you cant win them all.

And with BF'42 we got Invasion_of_the_Philippines, Aberdeen, Coral_sea, Battle_of_Britain, and Liberation_of_Caen for free with patches. That's what, 2 'expansion packs' for free. To be honest, I was expecting the same from BF2, good patches with free addon maps. Not a quick re-hash of a simple old map and buggy patches that ruin gameplay and crash servers. Another thing, with '42 the patches never broke the game or drastically changed gameplay, they fixed bugs and added good content.

Regarding getting one full year of gameplay, BF2 is not licensed annually, the license you get with the software is a 'perpetual license', the software is not supposed to stop working as intended, regardless of how much time has elapsed since purchase.

It is in fact you my friend who is the extreme minority. We're not just whining here, we want our game they broke fixed! Everyone in my clan, and every one I play with regularly is experiencing chronic instability with 1.3 ranked servers.

If all the problems with BF2 are sorted before 2142 is released it'll see better sales. I think it would be a big mistake to release it with BF2 broken and 90% of the customer base unhappy, because they're the demographic who would have bought BF2142.

In my eyes they WANT to kill BF2 so that we all go out and buy 2142 which means they longer have an obligation to support BF2 (like they did anyway ) You just have to look at the way they have tried killed off the mod community (making ABR very difficult to implement, no unlocks on Unranked servers, crappy and buggy map editor)

90% of people arent stupid enough to fall for that gimmick.

Whilst at first glance id be inclined to agree when you think about it thats completely wrong. Its probably that 90% of people WILL fall for that gimmick. Remember, people on this community (and others) form only a very small part of the worldwide players. Probably only around 10%

The other 90% are those pubbies who play maybe once a bluemoon, THOSE will be the people who go out and buy BF2142 because they dont play regularly enough to see the chronic server crashes or bugs. They probably CTD once and think sod it, ill play something else, They put it down to a problem with their PC and carry on merily.

theses things are ment to be tested thats why we waited a year for a beta

Almost same looking games but I bet my life that QW will own BF. Better enine better support ,less glitches, more testing. Why would you even go to BF2142 after playing BF2. IT IS JUST a SCAM. Like someone here said it will be just total conversion to futuristic war based on same faulty engine and writen by same people who f****ed this game.
I go quake. No more money for EA from me.

Oh I cannot wait for the bugs/glitches to appear in this game.......all these Pro-QW guys will go crying back into their milk.

Quake doesn't look as good as peeps are making it out too be, I watched the trailer and its just same old same old if im honest.....but I said that about F.E.A.R and im now addicted to that game.......and SWAT4 man I thought there was nothing more to gaming than BF2 until I found this direct2drive site and downloaded games YAY!
