While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Does everybody else experience those crashes to desktop, I tried to connect to 5 servers today, and every freaking time there is a crah to desktop, so I just give up... Is this patch or server related?

i experience it now and then.. it often happends to me when i press the join button after rejoining the server.. A reboot of my pc helps.. i dont know if its patch or server related thing.. I quess its maybe A memory leak or something in the pc.. i dont really know...
If you dont like the randomness and lack of teamwork in pub servers, join a clan or check out 21cw (www.21stcenturywarfare.com).
If you dont like being spawn camped by tanks at the Hotel flag on Karkand, spawn somewhere else.
This community is gigantic and there are alot of places to go where you can get your fix of gameplay suited to your interests. All it takes is a little bit of effort on your part -- which is actually what PC gaming is all about. If you want it easy, get a console.
The RTW community is very small and the overall age of the players there is usually higher. It's also worth noting that many of them are history buffs.
Likewise, the CoD community is much smaller than this one. If you check out the major fansites, you'll see 500-1000 topics in the general forum. Compare that with the amount of members here, pbf, and many other community forums for BF2.
Long story short, no one is an idiot here but you. I love this community and wouldn't have it any other way.

Who honestly caps flags in vehicles? lol Most of the time that is suicide, especially in pubs. 99% of commanders don't spot anything, so any one in a vehicle risks getting mined up and c4'd.

I did not think that. Your insults towards the BF2 community and to the players that were in the server with you led me to believe that you have yet to experience gaming with a good clan. Your gaming 'resume' is nice, however I find it hard to believe that the BF2 community is any worse than any of the ones you listed (WoW, ha!).

Regardless of what you went through, I know for a fact that there are plenty of people to have a great time with in this community.
Calling our community idiots and retards only puts you in the same pot... creating a paradox similar to:

Easier in that you don't need to take any effort to have an enjoyable experience. You load the came, hit a button and you're good to go. PC gaming is much more open ended, which introduces things like; cheating, exploiting, game bugs, computer issues, etc.

There is no argument here. The level of quality of this community is relative to what you define is quality and what things you experienced (or lackthereof).

my initial post was undoubtedly nothing short of rude.. rude to the specific group of gamers I had mentioned.. which I firmly believe make up 90% of the BF2 community.. not to say that 90% (nor not to eliminate the potential percentage) of this board or any other is full of the fools I mentioned.. but of the people I come across in game..

I play the following games online.. Rome: Total War, CoD, CoD:UO, CoD2, Madden '06, and Battlefield 2..
without a doubt.. the idiocy level of the gamers for each respective game is at its highest with BF2..
before I can really get into all the idiots running around every single public server.. the random disconnections I've experienced ever since 1.3 is ridiculous.. and only compounds to the lunacy of the other gamers in BF2..
today I log into BF2 to get some play time in.. after about 15 minutes of playing.. I am randomly disconnected (connection to server lost).. okay.. not that big of a deal.. I join up again.. and game crashes to desktop.. cool
after a reboot.. I get into a server for a while.. and simply cannot believe how many absolutely stupid people there are in this world.. TK'ing for vehicles is a given.. but at least those people have a purpose.. I'm talking about the people with absolutely no sense.. the people who run around with no sense of direction.. sit in a corner of the map, nowhere near a flag.. and cannot comprehend the simple objective of playing a damn video game..

but anyways I played a few rounds of this and placed first 3-4 times in a row.. ensuing round starts up.. and I'm kicked for "team switching and possible hacking".. this bull after the server rules explicitly state no spawn camping.. and possible hacking after 3-4 rounds of being a Medic on Karkand with a relatively subdued level of idiocy?? congratulations.. and also congrats to all you fools who don't have half a brain and play BF2 and accuse anyone who scores higher than your dumb ass of being a hacker..

It all depends on who you play with. Find a server you like, and stick with it. Also playing with the same people work well with the squad system. Ignore random people. Does standing in a corner doing nothing may be AFK. Does running around mindlessy may be following a enemy you haven't seen, or exploring the maps, since they are fairly new to this game. The only thing bad about this community is the ingame chat and forums. Why? It's because it's the inmature part of the community who is using forums and ingame chat most.
I agree, it's the community & not the f***'ed up patches that have contributed to my serious lack of online play lately.
For me I would have to say its a bit of both. Also givin both of those factors, yes I haven't been playing as much. When I do i'm lucky if I can play 2 rounds before a "problem with your connection" or server crash. *sigh*

How very true. I still think that the BF2 community is a hell of a lot more tolerant and friendy than the Steam community is. With that said, compare the quality of the 2 and you can clearly see that the standards here are much higher and this is a better place. Just my opinion though.
If you hate the community just leave. No one cares.
And before you quote this post and say "omg see this community blows, people aren't nice!" let me just tell you that we're all sick of whiney prepubescent players who think their two cents is worth a dollar.
I think if there wasn't such a wide variety of VOIP performance, it wouldn't have been abandoned so quickly by most who play this game, and it's really needed for the teamwork that transforms this game into what was intended. Those that do use it, half the time I can't understand what they're saying (so I understand why most don't bother any longer).
I was on some "Ghosts of War" server the other day. Must have been run by a lot of kids -- I never got TK'd so much for vehicles in in one game ever, and usually by players with the server name attached to their own (so who was I going to complain to). Wish I could have sent an EMP to their keyboards...
