NOOB - Newbie, new person to the game. Has turned into a derogatory term that can be used to describe the antics of a new player. Often used incorrectly in anger by a person who just got their ass handed to them. Often used in these forums when the responder has no other argument or basically nothing intelligent to say.

Noob = newb = newbie

Someone fresh, green, and, often times, ignorant.

I'd consider myself a noob even though I've been playing this game since 8/8/05. I didn't play from 12/2005 - 05/2006. It's pretty much like playing for the first time except I have some knowledge of what's happening, and all my stats are distorted (like 227 days to become Sergeant, even though it's only ~170 points :)).

Noob is meant to be insulting, and if it does insult you, it only proves your noobishness.

Cut them some slack. Many of the regulars have seen this question about a million times and are likely tired of it. Don't take it personally. You aren't a real member of these forums until you've been flamed anyway
