I know the feeling. I was ready to send out the same type of message depending on how things went last night.....I finally installed the 1.3 patch.

The last time I had an issue with the patches, I had to reformat my hard drive before I could get the game to work again. I had already determined that that was not an option this time. I was going to install the patch and one of two things were going to happen: I would play or I would never play again.


I PLAYED! And surprisingly I didn’t experience any problems with servers, lag, cartillery, etc. The two closest things to problems that I experienced were having to wait a minute and a half to login and one time it told me that my password was not valid.

No, Steam itself is an excellent program. I've honestly never had a problem with it and I've been using it since the beta days. My problem was with the actual game itself. This was the most severe problem I've ever had with CS:S. Valve isn't any better than DICE Canada when it comes to making patches unfortunately. Atleast Steam, CS, and Source give Valve a solid foundation to work on though

I disagree. Valve always patches games once a month, and delivers new content like maps via Steam.

And Iin every Stema game, you can click "Submit Bug", and report it to Valve. THAT is developer support.

You disagreed for the wrong reasons. I wholeheartedly agree that Valve supports their games much better than DICE or EA ever will. My only problem with Valve's support lie with the fact that their patches are every bit as subpar as DICE Canda's. Just look at the numerous complaint threads that pop up on the eve of every update. I usually find myself sifting through them for information unfortunately. Although I rarely get truly game destroying bugs like that shaderapi crap.

I hope I'm never going to buy BF2142, but I'll probably end up checking it out anyway.

Don't do 2142, do Quake Wars. Seems to have a better enigine, graphics, gameplay, and hopefully better support from the company.

leave and stop posting. I dont crash. I dont experience all this CTD. All i get is red tag bug every now and then. Not a problem for me. If your dumb enough to shoot an american looking person its not my fault. Try PR no nametags to be red there. Good riddens.

Just because you dont experience CTD does not mean nobody else does.
Many, many players experience CTD after latest patch and thats a 'fact'
So stop posting 'stop posting' just because you aint got the problem!

hey heres and idea now that you stopped playing BF2, learn whats out side your front door, and maybe get a girlfriend

I dont play BF2 no more than i have to, to test the Mod im making, im making this mod because im a game designer not because i love BF2 so much, I left my clan my ranks and owt else i can remember all behind, i was the leader of my clan but by the end i had to do what i needed doin i retired from BF2 and its been an improovement for me ever since.

No.

The problem that concerns me is that a lot of people take a wide sweeping generalization that everybody has CTD's and such. Fact is, there are a lot of people who don't have these errors and are enjoying BF2 and are getting extremely annoyed by seeing the forum quickly turn into a cespool of bitching.

We are very well aware that 1.3 brought errors to many players, but starting new threads for the same problems is pointless.

No problems crashing here, I had one issue with my video card settings and did some adjusting and everything runs like a top.
