Theyve been around since medal of honor allied assault. They had some weird mod (in mohaa) where everytime you killed someone you would get the message "god has blessed you with the skill to make such a fine shot" or something along those lines. :laugh:

I told them once that God is against war and that they shouldn't be condoning war with their server. Their response was that war is in the bible lol.

I kinda think that the only thing sillier than running a Christian FPS server is playing on one. Avoid 'em like the 7th plague.

No, running one is definitely sillier since they actually pay for server space to host that nonsense. But playing on one is a close second.

sigh...why do people feel the need to bash others becasue they don't agree with the way they run their server. the bottom line is this: THEIR SERVER(s) THEIR RULES, IF YOU DON"T AGREE WITH THEM PULL OUT YOUR VISA CARD AND PAY FOR YOUR OWN SERVER, otherwise quit your whining.

Some servers kick for swear words, not because the admins get offended, but to limit the amount of whining and name calling.

I am a Christian, but let my actions in game speak for themselves. I have rules as far as not swearing, and so forth, but that is because I try to be a moral person, not because the server says so.

Agreed. I understand some of your views on the hypocrisy of a server where people run around killing each other, yet ban "WTF", but all I can say is, it's a game, we play it for fun. It's not like we're actually going out there actively killing real people (though in a real war, things change). Cursing does not add to the fun. It is however, an active action, where you're actively spitting it towards a real person. That's unnecessary, so it's banned.

Bottom line as mentioned many times, if you don't like it there, move on. ( =

Remember..these types of servers are NOT really run by Christians.

They are usually run by griefers and ragers. They set the bait with the name of the server to lure people in. The name piques your interest.

I've found that ^ to be the case in several instances, though I joined anyway as I liked the map and the server was near full. I'm pretty anti-most-rules, but I understand the need for some. Kicked for saying WTF is a bit harsh imo, but that's because I believe cursing makes the english language fun. Other people's belief's are their own, and I don't judge provided it's not thumped in my face. I never care what anyone may do with their Sundays (or others) so long as they don't give me any trouble - to each their own you know. Except the Scientologists, I reserve mucho hato for them.

I doubt this dicussion would be happening if there were islamic or buddhist servers. In this day and age, it seems like it's open season on the christians. I think it's two fold:

1) From the Christian worldview: Jesus did say that those who are not his own are children of satan. So Christians will get attacked. Opposition's expected. So lets say their rules about discouraging profane or unacceptable language was ridiculous... whatever their stance on it, it's going to be attacked by people. If they police too harshly, they're called extremists. If they don't police, they're called hyprocrites. If they even play BF2, they're called hypocrites. Christians can't really win in this society. They're always going to be attacked. Jesus was too and he said his followers would be too. So they deal with it.

2) Christians don't live lives that are above reproach. It lends itself to scrutiny. To all the Christians out there. You get bashed on not only because the world is against you, but because you DO NOT live out what you preach. If we had more Christians living in the Spirit.. lives that were sanctified and transformed by Christ... You'd be bashed less.


So to go on with my preaching, here's what most people miss about Christ and Christian life. Yes, Christ did preach about love, kindness, generosity, etc... but he also preached a stern message of who he is and why he came. You can't pick and choose what to believe. They go hand and hand. You can't say he was just a Buddha like, Dr. Phil, self improvement guru dispensing 12 easy steps. Because the guy claimed to be God! I mean HOLY COW (no offense Hindus), but he's either a nutcase or God. You choose.

I don't usually respond to this sort of thing. War is indeed in the bible. In fact the Old Testament tells a story of God resurrecting a valley of dry bones to fight a war.

Can Christians play violent video games based on war? Sure, IT IS JUST A GAME. Also, remember that the US is at war with terrorists! War is part of our world and we don't live in caves.

Are Christian BF players hypocrites? No. Does this mean Christians want to listen to (or read) your foul language? No.

As a non christian and an athiest I have to agree with the christian {WP}Paas.

Being kicked for typing "wtf" is not unique to christian (or any other faith) servers. Wargimp you shouldn't warn yourself, you should ban yourself for a week for using this thread as an excuse to spout. You're a moderator and should be setting an example.
