But still, don't the jets in vanilla at least damage tanks with their cannons? Why bother to have the A-10 in the game if it can't take out tanks?

Yea if your good after a couple passes you can destroy. But the driver has more than ample time to ditch his ride inbetween strafes and wait for me to lose interest. but the A-10 should come out of the clouds just like they did in the video fill the tank full of molten hot urainium have its cannon overheat in like a 3 sec burst and fly back into the clouds. Most people say it has bombs....so..what? the F-15 has bombs, so is the A-10 just a reskined f-15 just slower? cuz thats what im hearing. And to boot its missing its most basic Air to Air missiles. So long drawn out dog fights are bound to happen.

100% completely agree its fun to fly. kills in an instant and you need to run like hell because everybody packs a stinger there lol i just wish a mod would come out with this

i would crap myself if they made a nice version of the tomcat with fully retractalbe wings ofcourse...but EA would just fix the wings on it. and make it fly like a cessna 172. Mods if your out there dont let me down! make a tomcat save me from the deppression of game designers that dont know about the real life counter part!!!!!

I love that 4 people so far have said the A-10 is overpowered when NONE of them has FLOWN or SEEN it in game. LMAO, this is the stupidest thing ever.

It seems to me like the new planes in AF are useless. So they have bombs and can use their guns to take out a tank in a few strafing runs. I can do that right now in the bombers in BF2 vanilla, and they can hit speeds of 900 km/h (or mph, whatever the units are). Judging by Endless' description, the A-10 is basically a fat, slow, AA-friendly version of the F-15.

Ok, here is the deal, again....

The jets in AF have no missiles. They have four (4) iron bombs. Like a fighter's bombs, except four of them, released two at a time.

Their guns will damage armor, but will not take out a tank with one pass.

They have no guided missiles nor rockets. Simply bombs and guns.

Yes, they are slower, BUT they are one whole HELL of a lot more agile at those slow speeds. They are NOT, rpt NOT, slower F-15s.

They are not AA bait. These maps have cover, and these jets are agile enough to make use of it. Yes a BF2 vanilla bomber can go faster, but they cannot hide behind a line of trees weaving in and out of roadways either now can they? They fly too damn fast.

This is a whole new enviornment here, different dynamics entirely. IT IS NOT EURO FORCE 2. EF was just BF2 with new skins. AF is a whole different type of gameplay and enviornment.

Now please, ffs, STOP saying wrong comments about a game which you have NEVER played. We've been on here posting what AF is really like and ten posts later it's all mucked up like a game of telephone!

Endless i dont have crazy hours in the air around 56 or 57 but when i hear an explanation of sitting in front of a tank and letting the gun rip and nothing really happens. im not impressed. and even though she might be fun to fly(cuz its a new skin) she's still the same old lady from Daqing Oilfields. whats truly disturbing and that theres the possibility that the little bird could take it out in a dog fight i can already feel it not being as fun as USI. speaking of which have you played it yet? DL it and tell me what you think i would love to hear your comparisions on it.

yup i read it but only after i posted hence my little edit at the bottom, im glad they atleast more agile than the eagle, Youre right though endless no of us have flown it. My real beef it with its arsenal and the main gun. the flight charateristics is another story.

Well I've got even less hours, around 22, in the air (2:1 K/D, so not great either), but I can say I love flying the A-10. It's too friggin sweet. The damn thing just turns on a dime.

One thing you have to get used to is the turning radius. It's very small. No more making a bomb run, flying across the map to line up again, making another bomb run. Now, with these jets, you can bomb, turn, and bomb again! So if you miss, or fail to eliminate all the targets, you simply do it again before they have the chance to move.

It will not be like an above post said, where they can just ditch their wounded ride while you try to line 'em up for a kill. If they try that you'll be back on them before they can get ten feet from their ride. You can loiter above an area in AF, not fly around the whole map to get one bomb run. This REALLY is one thing that makes AF so different.

Like I've been saying, stop imagining an A-10 on Dragon Valley. There is no Dragon Valley in AF. And no fighters to kill you. Don't take what we've said about AF and put it in BF2 vanilla mindset.
