First you have to download the larger Single Player maps and extract to your mod\levels\map folder then follow Korben's instructions...

you have to un-tick ranked filter box, cause co-op isnt ranked :/

my 'ranked' tick box has been unticked since last october, that is not why we cannot see coop. i do not have the option either. i dont care anymore.

If you don't have the Co-Op option then you will probably need to reinstall BF2 and apply the full patch. It's a known issue with some users.

Indian this is exactly what I am getting. I have went down through all the maps too, 16, 32, 64 just to be sure. Thanks for your reply.

Some of you may be having problems with getting custom maps to work in co-op. This is what I did to get Vulcan Island to work.



How I did it:
1. Uninstalled BF2 and restarted computer
2. Installed BF2 and applied the full patch
3. Made a new mod folder called Unlocks and copied the contents of the BF2 mod into it
4. Created shortcut to my new mod Unlocks
5. Copied the Vulcan_Island map folder to ...mods\Unlocks\Levels
6. Created gpm_coop folder under GameModes folder in the server.zip file
7. Copied the 16 folder from the GameModes\sp1 into new gpm_coop folder
8. Renamed the 16 folder in the gpm_coop folder to 64
9. Made a copy of the gpm_cq_64_menuMap.png in the Info folder and renamed it to gpm_coop_64_menuMap.png
10. Edited the vulcan_island.desc where I added the gpm_coop mode section. See below:

Need more info. Are they choosing Connect to IP address using your public IP address? Do you have your router configured properly?

I do But the IP I have for the server is the same as My friends also... I am thinking it doesnt show my real IP or something, and my router is working fine

Make sure they have your real IP, not your router's IP

If your IP reads something like 192.168.x.x, then that IP address will not allow your friends to connect to you unless they are on your side of the router. In other words, you are all sharing the same router. If that is not the case, you need to either punch a hole in your router and give your friends that IP port or you need to all be running some software that will allow you all to play on your COOP server. Someone else posted some info about how to do that in this thread. I believe it was www.hamachi.cc . If I am wrong look back at previous posts on this thread.
