I had to reinstall bf2 and then use the full patch to get coop working for me.

for COOP over VPN I use Hamachi that way my friends and I no matter where they are at can join my VPN and we can play together like we are sitting next to each other..

No kidding! Four of us vs. 16 bots on 100% was MURDER!! They're badass.

Also sad to say I got in a knife fight with one....and lost...D'OH!

hamachi is a great little program that i have had no problem with, it even helped my clan shoot a few videos last night over "lan" play even though we are hundreds of miles apart. :)

I have not played it yet, but I see some 700 populated servers out there running on this mode!! Can some one explain how enjoying that is playing Co-Op of BF2, against the bolts! Every one in the streets knows that the AI is very retarded in BF series. For Christ sake this is not Hiden & Dangerous 2 nor Call of Duty.

if you think they are retarded, fire up a coop game set them to 100% and go play john wayne, you wont last long..

I have installed the full patch twice then uninstalled BF2 and reinstalled. I do not have coop mode. I can not create a coop game. All I see is Conquest and Single Player mode. It looks to me that this is a large problem just by the fact that this problem is coming up all over the other forums. HELP!

Can someone explain why you can only use 16 player maps? Why not just use the Single Player option? Is there a workaround so you can play the 32 and 64 player maps in COOP mode? If so I may never play online again

Yes. Check out the Single Player forum.

Backup first! Then copy the 16, 32, or 64 folders from the sp1 folder (depends on which maps you download/install) to the gpm_coop folder found in the map's server.zip file after you have downloaded and installed the large navmeshed maps.
