    Anyone try USI yet?

    :O omg... that A-10 cannon.............

    lol

Well if you haven't got it yet, I HIGHLY suggest you DL this mod.

it's HUGE, but hey... its worth it.

Its basically like an expansion pack, minus the crappy levels and bugs.

It's got new vehicles, new sounds, new characteristics for everything, and new levels.. it's just awesome.

I also got PRMM, which I haven't messed around with much yet.. but that seems awesome also.

Right now i'm just having fun with the A-10... The 6 cluster bombs, 14 missles, and powerful ass cannon (each round basically = 1 grenade... lol), MORE than makes up for its extremely sluggish flight and lack of afterburners... lol

Yeah its the coolest mod out so far. I love it.. The A-10 is awsome.. Much better than the original Desert Combat mod for BF. The Maps are sweet too!

Only problem is the lack of players. At any given time there are only a dozen or so servers and most are empty.

Wish it would pick up in popularity cause I really like it. I also notice it had a little more lag than usual..

Downloading now... I have tried most of the mods so far, but have had no love finding servers. Even with the correct filter setting?

I'll download it tonight to give it a shot. If it's a keeper, I may refer it to my clanmates.

Thats weird... I was getting ~30 servers.... about 10 of which were popular, and ~3-4 were full

Make sure you remove the "Ranked" filter setting.

This mod is cool. Definitely a refreshing change from BF2 with the new maps, vehicles, etc. It's so popular TWL (Team Warfare League) has added a ladder for competitive play. It has a few significant bugs, but I am sure they will get ironed out in the first couple of patches.
Desert Conflict is also going to be releasing a mod in the new few weeks. I think that DCON will be as good if not better than USI. Either way it's fun.

                        Re: Anyone try USI yet?

It's a worth while mod, the fact that you have personal AA kits makes life a whole lot more liveable on the ground. I pretty much used to just fly in BF2 all the time, but I have actually found that I spend a good deal of time running around on foot in this game.

The game has its fair share of bugs, but the majority of them are pretty minor. There are a few cons about it though:

The M16 is a sniper rifle without the scope
Everyone and their grandma wants to be on the US side
Tanks are too easy to get one shot kills on
Let me turn the damn radar off on the fighter jets
Helis can flare way too fast
Sniper rifles are pretty much unusable due to a bug they are addressing

                        The good stuff:

                        Selectable tank rounds
                        Tank zoom
                        Dumbfire AT rounds
                        Personal AA kit
Lots of ground vehicles for major vehicle mayhem fights
All the maps are good for what their intentions were

It really is a very solid beta for a first release, give it a try if you haven't, it is more of what BF2 should have been.

If it's on the desktop, then just click it and it should load up.If not then run BF2 then go to Community and under custom games, click USI. BF2 will restart and you can then play USI
