I think grenades are ok as they are (and even if they did get nerfed, no doubt they would get over-nerfed like the GL etc), but claymores should IMO kill (or be triggered by rather) friend and foe alike then people would mostly use them sensibly, like pre 1.2.

Just to emphasize what I mean, I do not mind well placed claymores - I do however have a problem with a total no go area for one team while another team passes over them without a problem, kind of like if artillery did not team kill.

I am all for lowering the number of grenades (and maybe adding smoke to everyones kit as a tradeoff) but I would like to be able to blow up claymores with grenades. Claymores should have to be hidden in bushes or around corners. When a flag is being overrun I spawn as sniper just to toss down claymores because I know that means at least 2 kills on a spawned flag, but it makes me feel dirty that, if I survive, I grab the first remaining kit to keep fighting. That isn't right, and neither is 5 medics standing around staring at a claymore waiting for Private Nobody to walk by it to detonate.

...that reminds me, spotting a claymore would be good too. I hear there is a sound file already installed "Enemy Claymore Spotted"

The thing that bugs me about using grenades is when you want to throw it up to a higher point you have to just "sky" it to get it to possibly come down on your opponent because of the long distance that it gets thrown by default.

The other annoying thing about them that I think should be fixed is that they are almost invisible. It's like spotting a fly in the air. You almost just have to guess when a guy is gonna throw one unless you happen to see him actually throw it which is super rare.

Let grenades frag claymores. Fight explosives with explosives.

I think they should nerf all sniper rifles. Make them less accurate and less powerful. and make all snipers wear a bright red suit with feathers. and hold a sign that says snipers are gay.

I think clays were better pre-patch. Admittedly, I'm a sucky sniper, so I was never really bothered by the n00b-sees-red-skull-and-thinks-it-means-free-icecream anomaly, but I'd much rather have it the way it was than the way it is now. Before, a sniper wouldn't dare litter his own flag radius with claymores because most people (hell, maybe even myself included, even though I almost never punish TKs) would probably insta-punish if they got TKed by a clay the second they spawned at a flag. Now that friendlies cannot set clays off it essentially means the sniper can drop them anywhere they want without worrying about TKs. While this does avoid numbskull teammates running into clays and being able to punish for their own stupidity, it unfortunately leads to claymores being used as an offensive weapon (as others have mentioned with snipers jumping into the fray strewing claymores about to get free, cheap kills) instead of a strategic booby trap or something meant to cover the sniper's flank.

I have no problem with how they changed the AT mines, because an AT mine cannot ever completely seal off a flag. Sure, it can be lame when you're pursuing a vehicle and he drives over an area unscathed and you follow him and blow up on a mine, but AT mines are only triggered by vehicles, and aside from areas people don't need to go (such as the tall buildings in Sharqi and Mashtuur), there's no place a vehicle can go that an infantryman can't. If a flag is blocked off by AT mines, then you just get out of your vehicle and take it on foot. Clays can be detonated with vehicles, but what about the areas that vehicles cannot go, such as the TV station in Sharqi, or the Sub Pen flags in Leviathan? The only way to take out clays spammed in those places is a human sacrifice. Not really a good decision on DICE's part as a fix, but I guess people wanted no more TKs from clays and this is what we got. :hmm:

In multiple situations I witness a small, (Weak, if i didn't know better), perfectly balanced grenade plop about 5-7 yards in front of me. I'll frantically sprint and jump away but I'll always end up dying or being hurt (Often badly  ), not to mention serious shell-shock. It would seem that the actual damage radius is about three times as big as the actual explosion effect.

Maybe the developers went a little overboard when programming this small, four second fused handheld baseball of inevitable-death.

The other thing that seems like it's over powered and over-ranged is the infamous claymore. It's satisfying when you kill someone with one, but it's very annoying when someone kills you with one. (Same goes for the knife )
You start to feel like putting claymores down is cheap and unfair. I know that I feel a little guilty when an unsuspecting victim is practically vaporized by one of my claymores.

Again, I'll be 5-7 yards from a claymore, which will explode as soon as I look directly at it, killing me instantly. I see people muttering "Good thing those snipers have those claymores, or else they wouldn't have any points!". I know that claymores don't account for all of a sniper's kills, but a good chunk of them are. Especially since they're over-ranged and over-powered.

(Fiction, produced solely to enforce my point. )

I think that explosions like these should be slightly tweaked in the next update. It's not like I have anything personal against frags and claymores, but I'm sure anybody would probably agree with me (Even if you kill people constantly with frags, or you rely on claymores to either cover you while sniping, or to instantly and utterly obliterate anything that comes within a seven yard radius).

What do you think? I want to hear other people's opinions.

No this isnt real life, because in real life claymores have a range up to 30 feet i would believe, correct me if im wrong. So 5-7 yards is just fine.

As far as nade throwing distance as mentioned by Gimp, they increased the throwing distance as they took away the jump-n-shoot capabilities....:hmm:

Engineers can defuse claymores, but approach from the side. Youll also probably be killed while doing it by some enemy guy, but it can be done.

I personally dont understand the damn claymores or what ever the snipers lay but there will be some servers I can stand right next to it and it wont go off and then there are others that I can just look at wrong and there I am laying dead. This is what I see as BULL$HIT. Gernaids are pretty powerful in real life so I would assume they would also be in the game.

Has anyone else had a defective grenades? I've thrown quite a few grenades that seem to just lie there without ever exploding, while my ass gets shot full of holes.

I threw two at an enemy in a building and saw one explosion (mind you there was quite amount of time inbetween, more then 5 seconds) that did zero damage.
