uhhh.. there is no way combat is all about luck...
Look at your statistics man, your K ratio is nearly the same.
If you look at SKILLED players for example, myself, not to boast or anything, I have 13,000 more kills than deaths. and i seriously doubt that is all about luck. Infaantry battle is all about skill man. So go play karkand for a few more days non-stop. and whine about the game to the players who kill you.

Ok I out rank you so heres my opinion. Not saying I am a better player just that I have "stats".

It does seem a little to random in certain circumstances. However I noticed just that I was getting too comfortable in situations I easily dominated, thus meant me getting killed a little more often.
It comes down to: never underestimate your opponent.

Like when C4 chucking was ok? Or maybe when knife servers weren't quite banned yet?

Perhaps you could be more specific about what you mean by 'harder', because I got my expert knife legit, and since I can't toss C4 frisbees like others could, getting 38 explosives kills is proving a tad tricky.

Thats the truth! I've played since release, well only really started playing when they fixed it so i could actually finish verifying client data before the end of the round lol. But as much as some things are easier now, a few things are also harder, like staying alive in a chopper for instance. I dont really miss the days when i could fly a heli in plain sight of tanks and AA, but as i said its harder now just as some things are easer.

If someone doesn't see the difference between the weapons and thinks it's "luck" when they get a kill, the problem is probably them, not the game.

i disagree, i think surviving 5 minutes without being killed takes a sh!tload of skill... even if you're one of those snipers camping at the edge of the map so out of it you're facing out of bounds and staring at the sky wondering why its so cloudy..

Re: Combat requires very little skill?

Jesus, are you all programmed to say the same response without thinking about the point? The fanclub is in town.

I wasn't on about me not being able to kill anyone, or my aim, both of which I dont care a damn about. I went medic originally because I played as Med. for a number of years in RTCW, I played Karkland because that was THE infantry map. Since SF come out I stopped playing Karkland and going medic and did all the other classes.

Funny how the people come out saying about stats and dying like thats all they care about, All I wanted to say was that It's difficult to win with style now. Basically it's aim and fire now when before there were little 'tricks'. I'm not talking cheating or staying by a spawn in my tank like alot of you 'i've got 15k more kills than deaths' im talking about running up a lane and jumping and throwing a granade against a wall that will come back down and kill the fool chasing you with they're pkm, I'm talking about diving through the window instead of having to go through a well defended door.

You guys seem to think that a sniper should be able to kill a guy with an AK from 5 meters, you think as a assault trooper you should be able to to take out the tank and as a rocket launcher guy you should be able to down planes in 1 shot..... What happened to playing a game for a long time to get GOOD at it?

Dont mind that alot of people wont agree, and i dont mind that at all but I know alot of people also agree but just dont like getting trolled.

Maybe your spending too much time ziplining about and grappling buildings to notice the game?

I don't recall seeing anyone say that in this thread. And I know you can't (and never could) do any of those things in BF2. No-one wants to make it where your choice of kit is irrelevant. No-one wants a game where you flip a coin to see who wins a firefight.

The tricks you talk about are still in the game, they're just different tricks now. As has been said at length, the game has changed as patches have been released and players need to adapt to that.

Combat is not just luck. Luck plays a factor, yes, but there is far more to it than that. And complaining that a game is too balanced is absurd.

Re: Combat requires very little skill?

I have been playing the game since before any major patches and it truthfully hasn't changed all that much for me. I never used any of those annoying exploits (c4 chucking, bunny hopping, noob toobin) and the only reason my stats have gotten better is because I have gotten better at the game.

im talking about running up a lane and jumping and throwing a granade against a wall that will come back down and kill the fool chasing you with they're pkm, I'm talking about diving through the window instead of having to go through a well defended door.
Just because YOU haven't adapted to the new set of rules and come up with new style kills, doesn't mean they aren't still there. I trick people all the time. . .I have "style" (which seem to be more like fun clever kills) all the time. You have failed to adapt, the game hasn't been dumbed down.

You guys seem to think that a sniper should be able to kill a guy with an AK from 5 meters, you think as a assault trooper you should be able to to take out the tank and as a rocket launcher guy you should be able to down planes in 1 shot..... Hey man, you are the only one in this thread, as far as I can tell, that has said anything about all the guns being the same when you said "no matter which weapon you choose now it has almost the exact same chance of killing than any other." I see vast differences in all the guns. When I play medic, I am constantly choosing between the three guns have in depending on the situation I am in. I see them all as VERY different and suited to different roles.

Combat requires skill. Maybe the reason you don't think it requires skill is because you haven't honed the skills necessary to be good at it. To be honest, this sounds liek when I was a kid and would get my ass kicked in a game and I would throw down the control and say 'this games sucks! It doesn't take any skill to play' when the fact of the matter was that I was just frustrated with my lack of skill/experience.
