i dont know how to do the whole switching seats thing and still hit stuff...but sometimes i still get stuck soloing a helo.

usually people are willing to shoot you over a helo, but sometimes i will jump in, and there is nobody around to be a gunner...and i wait for people to spawn..they just walk off and jump in a blackhawk or jet, im sitting there yelling "get in" 100 times...nobody guns for me. i hate when that happens.

Well if you couldn't solo tv guide you wouldn't have this. I tell you what I can't take down a good pilot with a good gunner, if he hits me with that tv missile.

Try it sitting inthe drive way, to get a feel for it.
ROFL.. you hit it on the head.

LOL, the planes do the same thing as if you did it in RL anyway ... the just continue gliding. Hopefully you don't collide with something before you jump back. But while we're comparing bf to reality have you seen anyone get out of an APC without opening a door bf2 style? Asgard teleporter anyone?

Its not suppose to reflect what happens in reality. Would a heli REALLY go into a high speed horizontal spin if you took your hands off the controls?

The point is that solo-piloting is easy, no communication needed, no teamwork needed, no lining up targets for the gunner, etc etc etc. It is lame, and TKing for self-centered purposes is the lowest of the low in BF2.
Even if I were piloting with an absolutely useless gunner, I would have the courtesy to try and teach them; and if all else fails- I just pull-over somewhere and 'politely' ask them to get out until they know how to be effective in an Helo. I never TK anyone for anything (then again I kill selfish TKing lamerts, as I once ran into a whole clan that was TKing helo and aircraft pilots for their own use- I went and made the rest of the round for them miserable).

NatureBoy', I'm sure you wouldn't mind then, if I tked you for your helo then just because I think you sucked. Come to think of it, I think your attitude and personality stinks too, so I reckon I'll tk you for your kit, your vehicles, and I'll just tk you anyway even if I have that kit already; just because I think you suck.

Wouldn't you just love it if EVERYONE was just like you?

A player with an attitude like yours is worse than a player who's noob or plain useless on the field.

This isn't a flame by the way, it's a principle of courtesy and honorable play. NatureBoy_Wooo (And anyone like him, like the lame Helo pilot) is, as far as I'm concerned, deserving of any TK done unto them.

I just want to say.. playing solo in a two seat helicopter is LAME! Killing your teammate in order to fly solo is even LAMER!

EA, the helicopter should receive damage for being out of bounds and not just the player. Just a thought.
Dunno where you've been in the last 2 weeks but they have already stated that they are doing something about that.

Yes, the incessant crying has finally gotten to their heads. Don't worry, something you care about will soon be nerfed as a result of others complaining about it.

                    Yeah, they do.

                    it's called auto-rotation.

Re: Soloing Heli Pilots are Lamers!

the only problem with solo-piloting, is the fact that ppl cannot get a lock on it....thats it......if they fix that then solo piloting is gonna be so hard

the out of bounds fix is gonna be so if any part of the vehicle is out of bounds, everyone in it takes damage, so this issue is dead

ive been stuck as pilot of the heli without gunner alot, i usually create a squad, and fly around trying to pick nearby ppl up......usually end up getting bombed, artied, or TVed in the process.....

lets face it, there are rounds where no one is interested in flying.....except you....so why not fly solo? at least the enemy wont take it and use it against you.....just dont tk to use it solo, because being a greedy teamkilling idiot is teh ghey1!!11!111

if they did remove the ability to switch seats, it will make me (and everyone else) less effective against an enemy heli with gunner, and would be dead waay sooner....and would be unable to assist the team by taking out that heli, but instead, getting killed, spawn camped until the heli spawn, get the heli stolen, then the team gets raped by two helis

As a good gunner, that never solos, I'll say this much. Even that second or two that you hover and circle to get your TV shot, is more then enough time to blow you up with a TV of my own. Slowing it down to get it into hover, then shotting the TV missle, then trying to get it sped up again to get out of there, is too much time to be still/slow in a chopper, especially around enemies.

Most of the time I'm TVing it's in a split second, as my pilot whips us back out of harms way while the missle is still on its way to the target. It takes alot of work not to get shot down even with two decent people in a chopper.

I don't think solo choppering is wrong, aside from killing the gunner to solo. however your just easy pickings for half decent players in all kinds of vehicles, never mind a really good AT guy, if you try to TV by your self.
