Patch 1.3 details leaked - Hoax or for real?

some people have already taken note of this....


www.battlefield2.nl states on their website about an official changelist......
But is this true? NO! this is unconfirmed information!
personally, the dodgy EA logo on the background, is not EA style so i say NOT TRUE, a Hoax!

But it seems this info was originating from bf2rankedservers.com and they have been leaking info.

Ofcourse, the image is removed from bf2ranked servers, due to "higer intervention" ( read on EA's demand )

But that leave us with a big question :
are these patch details true????

it seems nobody can confirm.

BUT:
crazy enough, an image from bf2rankedservers.com reached us.
and after some investigation, we decided NOT to post the full image with all texts.

( no we did'nt sign any NDA, we are just 'good' battlefield news sources :) )

in the next, episode of Battletalk, i talk to some people of the battlefield community, and and EA representative about this.

As the news came quite unexpected, not many people may have followed what has been going on.

let me explain.

somebody distributed the FULL changelist of the 1.3 patch
this is NOT an official version of the changelist!

Actually, once this list appeared



EA started an investigation, and got the image removed.

But, As you know me, i have my sources, soon i was noted of the same file, just replaced, and again the link was distributed.



watch the different URL's! this second screen shot was taken just 1 hour after EA ordered removal of this information.

it didnt take long than a EA rep to notice also this URL which got also deleted..... or???


this image show the image url as a restricted area.
Is the file deleted? or available for a select few?

As i try to find out what is excactly going on here, i jumped over at the website where the file originates.

And here we get confronted with NDA talk, and actually any avoiding answer available in the book.

As the information is REAL, and a Website of Trusted EA Partner ID3.NL www.battlefield.nl states in dutch "Official EA Changelist" im really starting to wonder what a "Trusted" partner really is.

And beter yet, how trusting are the people in "Non-Existing Beta Program" ?

As i keep on digging on this story, to bring you the truth behind this news, i can only say 1 thing.
Dont believe the hype. Believe us - we have the facts, the contacts, the truth.

If it is true, this will be a great B-day present for me :)

The bot AI adjustment seems reminiscent of the previous BattleFields.
I like the idea of a Vehicle Drop, but.. how the heck could they just incorporate that into the physics!

Wouldn't be too hard to incorporate it. The vehicle would probably be dropped out of a hercules or something similar, fall at the normal speed for a vehicle, and then a chute would open and it would drop the last few feet to the ground.

yay! It's true!! I can't wait for air drops.

And the Co-Op mode will be great for new people to get to know the game first, as well as learn to pilot a plane (for once they may get it right off the bat online).

Prevented ban list from being cleared in the event of a server crash.
Fixed issue with players not properly ranking up on servers where they continuously play.
Fixed bug where friendly vehicles show up as valid targets.
Friendly Vehicle lock: Lock-on weapons do not lock on to friendly vehicles. The box with an X through it will still appear, but a lock tone will not sound and then if fired, the missile will not track the friendly target.

Actually, I strongly suspect that the offending file was put into the wrong folder. It's likely that it was posted so Combat Stuidos members could all have easy access to it without having to do a mass mailing. Someone oopsed and put it in a public page.

It's all speculation, but a good application of Occums Razor. The theory fits all the facts and you don't have to make up anything extra (hoax, intentional leak, act of God in the form of escaped monkeys with web coding skills).

Anyway you slice it, it's EA's own damned fault.
For not implementing their testing better.
For not sharing the information outright.
For not generally communicating with the community better.

BTW, this isn't a slam. EA just really needs to figure out that if they weren't so tight lipped they'd find the community backing 'em up more.
