I am going with "better safe then sorry" also, i reload at ~20 bullets as well most of the time, I play on 64 player server only so running out of ammo is impossible, there will always be support players or dead bodies to loot for thier weapons if i run out of ammo.

In fact i always play in a squad as well, and all good squads have a support player spawn in from time to time when assaulting flags or simply when everone needs a top-up.

Even if i take down another player with 6 bullets i always reload. like that one poster said, better safe than sorry.

I basically toss half full clips because I suck and don't expect to live beyond a few shots anyway; that is, I know I'll be dead before I run out of clips, so I always like to have a full one :)

When you can pick up the kits of the people you kill it really doesn't make sense to be stingy with ammo. Reload early, reload often.

i play with the G3 alot, i wait till i have 2 or 3 rounds left

i always use 2 shot bursts or semi auto, it only takes 4 bullets to kill an armored person

but i think my stingy-ness with wasting ammo has accounted for alot of my deaths, if i wouldve just sprayed i wouldnt have died

True! Don't got to pay for clips, so i'm wasting them.
There are only a few situations where you have to be economical with ammo.

Well, I just reload and reload...and when I do this I have a small chance of dying due to a nice full clip.... Then when I start running low on ammo, I just pickup the kit of the person I just killed and keep fraggin.... Its pretty simple really.

Clip? Ahh, yes, magazine! Yeah, I reload when I think some bad sh!t is going to happen and I'm down to maybe 12 or so, starting with 30, or maybe 2 for a bolt-action sniper.

No...clip and magazine are not the same, I do not think. A magazine is ALL of your clips combined.

Yeah, I reload wuite often. Maybe after 2 or 3 firefights.

1. I reload if i use more than 10% of the clip size. eg 3 out of 30. If you get into a firefight, you will need every round in that clip.
2. You will undoubtedly die before you reach the last clip anyway.
3. There are ammo packs on the ground all the time so why not take advantage of that.

I normenly just say "safe then sorry" then reload after the clip is over half empty. I figure since most of the time I don't even survive through all 5 or so clips of ammo it won''t hurt to reload.

If I were to reload after every kill like I would in any other game, I would pretty much only have enough ammo to kill 4 people (4 clips given) before I draw blanks, and there are never supports around when I seem to need them.

Just wondering, what exactly is your logic behind this?

4 clips is enough for at least 4 people. If you can kill 4 people before you die, that means you have k/d ratio of 4, and majority of the bf2 players have k/d between 0.7 and 2. Considering this, I don't mind reloading, even if I'm waisting my 15 bullets that are left. I don't want to be in a situation where I have to reload in the middle of a duel.
