Kidding. Damn, I never tried stalking someone from a different level than their own. I am pretty damn good at sticking behind people looking for opportunities of fire.

Anyway, I just wanted to see some personal tactics. Not because I would use them against you, but because of human curiousity.

I use the "bait" move myself, but a chase at a different angle is definitely worth remembering.
the reason behind that (i think is obvious) but its so that when (or if.. :p ) they look behind them, they won't see you.

a good way of staying at a higher level, is occasionally use "chase rear" (where it looks from the back to front) and you can see a little bit under you.

you just use that, but as if you were looking behind you (like check it occasionally when you are stalking).

      WAY BETTER

On my regular account...Colony 25.4:1 ratio

And even further on my account I created to see how well I could do K ratio wise which I havent played on in a long time since 1.2ish which is the best K ratio that I know of which was 129:1 kill death ratio which beat PlaneWhore's easily.
      Aircolony 129:1 ratio

I dont need to back anything up. Not to mention that server has too many jets which arent balanced. Eurofighter is almost unhittable, F35 you cant miss. It would be ridiculous.

Also I saw ppl listing pilots like Sail who dont do anything but fly J10s on wake island which proves nill. Real pilots fly F35 v Migs and F18 vs Migs or F35 v J10.

Look at my stats and know that I mostly fly USMC vs Mec/PLA planes.

I do my fighting in real ranked servers during normal play.

        EXACTLY!

I have about 400 hours in USMC, and 60 in china, and 70 in MEC (if I remember right). The ONLY reason I have 60 in china, is because I play this server that enforces team switching, and you can't stay on the same team 2 times. When I am on china, I either stay on the ground, in a chopper, or try to get to the carrier.

You come on here and insult my friends, completely unprovoked, then refuse to make good on your boasts? In real life that kind of things will get you hurt. Be glad it's the internet.

Ive played against that Sail guy, on a Wake 64 player Insomnia server, and yes... 31 of 32 people on our team had an average of 3kills, while Sail himself had over 70 each round.. was rediculous... ive even seen him kicked a few times just because he was ruining gameplay.. when i see im on i sucide and chase him the whole map..... lol.. btw .. id like to go up against some real pilots, ive only been playing for 2 months... and i have a 3.56 K/D ratio with Jets best rounds were 32-0,28-0, 23-0, although i cheat sometimes, ill hit you with 1 missel then use the guns on you.. saves me trips back to the airfield !!

Pilots no longer seem to be capable of getting away from enemy jets when someone actually comes after them with guns. Everyone's complaining about the f-35b/j10 comparison. Were they unbalanced pre-1.2? Yes, they were, but I didn't see thread after thread about it back then. Of course, it is rediculous that the f-35b has such a small chance of evading missles, but why do you people want to fix this by making other jets THE SAME?! Missles can be used to down a j-10, it's all about the timing.

Ask yourself: When was the last time you had a real dogfight?

Now please don't post some comment on how us pilots just want kills or points. Make no mistake - with or without the new AA, a decent pilot in post-1.2 BF2 will have no problem 'ground pounding'. It's the excitement and skill needed in dogfights that attracted me to jets in the first place, and with the new <20 second missle fights it has completely gone away.

Aren't there any other aviators here who want the old way of dogfighting back?

Forgive the whineyness of this post, but I feel very strongly about this subject as jets attracted me to BF2 in the first place and won't let it rest this easily
Piloting in BF2 is an empty shell compared to what it used to be. Can't really blame the pilots for leaving and/or getting bored of the air game. Piloting was only really entertaining for me when skill was the only factor in the air but as that is no longer the case it has lost its appeal. I enjoy the ground game much more because unlike when I'm in the air I'm actually in control of my eventual fate.

Not to get in to this again but I know and the rest of the top pilots know KDR ratio is no demonstration of real skill and just for show. SPM is the only piloting statistic that matters. On my 23mm account I had a 400:1 K/D ratio for a good long while but then I had a bad string of connection drops (each worth a death) and had a bad run getting TKed on the runway and that was that.

However my 7+SPM remained constant. Again no statistic is a true measure of a pilots skill Colony but SPM is the closest thing to it and my SPM has always dominated yours.

WTF??? Dude, that was months ago.......Hell we couldn`t even get in a full 5 minutes of our scrim in w/o the server crashing(Remember the fun everyone had with 1.3). The scrim really never happened because of that, so for you to say you smashed us is totally insane...Both sides decided to postpone until a later date.....Or did you forget that part?
By the way, why did you dig up this old thread up anyhow?

All I have to say is that you can't whore a J-10 and call yourself a good pilot.

                          Not true.

Like it or not *all* the planes take skill to use properly. The only difference with a J-10 is shooting down other planes is extremely easy while they have difficulty shooting you down. In fact striking ground targets well with a J-10 is more difficult than the other planes because a) it has much lower cannon ammo and more importantly b) it isn't nearly as stable as the other aircraft.

I agree on the point that the J-10 seems more sensitive. However, if you take a guy with a 50 KDR in the F-35 and a guy with a 70 KDR in the J-10, both flying against the same skilled teams... I'd say the F-35 guy is more skilled.

A Wake carrier raper doesn't impress me one bit. Oh wow, you fired your MG's and dropped some bombs. Oh what's this? A missile! No worries, I'll just do some crafty maneuvers and the missile will hit the nearest USMC blackhawk!

You obviously don't have much experience in the aircraft. In most scenarios the total points you can score in a J-10 versus F-35B are identical with proper techniques. I've had tons of 170+ point rounds in an F-35B on Wake and it's simple cheese as long as I follow the basic formula which is: get the Chinese airfield asap, destroy the 1st or 2nd J-10 during takeoff, if a J-10 managed to takeoff shoot them down, rape the J-10 spawn/Z-10 spawn, stop by the beach to destroy camping jeeps/tanks and it's really just that easy. In a lot of ways you can score higher/easier with the F-35B because of the sheer amount of people who camp the J-10/Z-10 spawn which is an extremely undefended location.

That takes no more or less skill than spawning up as a J-10 and fighting two manned Essex guns, destroying the blackhawk and cobra ect.

But still, airfield is a huge base, and the carrier is about 40x20m... you know what I mean. It's like fishing in a bucket full of fish.
