Man, I really hate posts like this. In my opinion, your opinion sucks. Let me translate:

'you are all just a bunch of mouthbreathing chowderheads that are way too dumb to possibly understand the complxities involved in pushing a button. Even though your signatures indicate that you have played this game for hundreds of hours you still need to have press, then release explained to you.'

Pi$$ on that. I have experienced this many times, mostly with AT but I ahve had it happen with medic, too. It can't be the way I press the button, because I don't press the button at all. I use the mouse wheel exclusively. I have also experienced the sprint thing mentioned as well. Plenty of sprint bar left, but you have to let go for a bit then press again and away you go. Before I saw this post I thought it might be a glitch in my comp, and like wolfgang am happy to hear I'm not the only one.

Oh, and thanks to whoever mentioned "hungry hungry hippos". Now I got that stupid jingle stuck in my head......

Actually, the poster I replied to was badmouthing the OP by telling him that it was happening because he is a spaz, when in fact it is a legitimate problem.

I like scrollwheel weapon changers, most the time they are screwed in the alleyways
I used to use the scrollwheel too years ago in other games, but quickly learned how much more effective it is to have the weapon slots bound to keys and mousebuttons.

Hey there,

Remembered reading this post yesterday and thought about it when i was playing today so did a little playing and found out what this single shot bug, as you call it, really is... it's a bit silly really but if you press 3 and 4 at the same time, even just catching it, the SMG changes fire mode immediately to single shot but you don't see any animation and all you see is the rocket coming out, so when you switch back again, your SMG is firing single shots... :laugh:

Like i said it's daft really but if you don't believe me then try it out, you'll just have to be more careful pushing the buttons in the future!

Actually I'm very happy with my G15 keyboard. No need to pay even more just to play BF2. and I very much doubt that the ZBoard will resolve this problem...

It seems when playing certain kits like the AT kit when I hit 4 to switch to missile, then hit 3 to switch back to gun I end up in single fire mode. If I had the gun and hit 3 I would expect it to toggle between auto and single but not when switching weapons. What's really weird is that never happens when I play medic or spec ops and switch to med kit or c4 or even grenades. It always seems to happen with AT.

It really sucks to have the missile loaded, see enemy approaching, hit 3 to switch only to get off one shot at a time. By the time I hit 3 again I'm usually dead.

And while I'm at it, I'm also sick of 1) having to hit 9 twice to get the parachute to open, and 2) sometimes even that doesn't work and I end up face planting the ground.

Sounds like something is wrong with your keyboard. Hitting 9 2x isn't normal and having it toggle-switch isn't normal.

I can confirm this bug also...

When swiching form PP-19 or MP5 to SRAW ERYX or RPG-7 then back to PP-19 or MP5 approx 50% of the time the weapon auto switches to single shot mode its not that much of a problem though if you remeber to keep and eye on your hud and notice when it occours.

Although I do prefer to use the PP-19 on single shot anyway

I can clearly hear the "click" when it changes fiering mode.
Unless heavy combat is going on in close proximity...

I think I have expierenced that bug before but in never really happens to me anymore. You could of course bind 3 (primary gun) to the mouse wheel button and see if it still happens as often. That way you can switch fire modes much faster if you're changing them often too.
Also I have the parachute on 1.

Is there a trick to being able to bind stuff to mousewheelup/mousewheeldown? I'm at work right now, but yesterday I was under the common controls and I was trying to switch parachute to either of those, but the game wouldn't recognize it. I have an MX500. I also couldn't find the field for switch weapon up or switch weapon down, which is what the mousewheel is bound to by default.

The weapon up/down option isn't in the bf2 control setup. All you'll find there is cycle (F by default) and the numbers that correspond to the different weapons.
I don't know if there's are trick to bind MW up to something different than MW down. Good question? I have the Razer Dimondback and checked in the controls. For me it says 3 which seems to be not only the MW but also the button with it is set to universal scrolling. I could change that to any button or makro but I think it will change what I currently have on the MW button too.
PS I don't think you can set different direction of the MW to different keys. Well, maybe with MX 500 you can?
