We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
..... who cares? Long as they're not doing stuff in-game, how's this matter? Oh no, they'll snipe the commander spot and pwn you with all of their unlocks.
Well the way it works...lets just say it effects everyone on the server at the time they are doing it.
what can you expect?
I don't really care. It doesn't make them special or anything.
The only people who would care would probably Blazin.Uk or {TA}Firestorm(might have gotten their names wrong but oh well)
I love how all the peeps that dont care, never seem to miss the opportunity to post!! LOL.. to all of you that dont care, STFU!! NOBODY CARES THAT YOU DONT CARE!
at this point, they are all reset, and EA will keep resetting them untill a patch with the solution arives, I think they should ben there cd key , for the rest, I don't care about it, they won't stay at the top
this is just a ploy to prove to EA/ Dice that they screwed up. They will keep doing it till its fixed, or at least thats what the leader of the madness (the CEA clan or something like that) said.
Uhm, or just use software to change your MAC address. Sheesh.
Umm, well, if you're talking about "spoofing" your MAC address, that hasn't been an effective tactic since..well, since the early days of hacking when port 135 was open to anyone and everyone! :)
Since ICMP packets rely on proper MAC authentication to transmit over TCP/IP, and alot of ISP routers/switches actually double-check some connections to make sure there is no spoofing, it's doubtful that other than spoofing through Linux you're SOL when it comes to trying it within Windows.
Spoofing, however, is very possible on a LAN, if you want to try banning yourself locally If you're interested, play around with SMAC (presently at 1.2, slowly moving to 2.0)
PEACE
EDIT: In case anyone wants to know, there is another application that provides the same service, free of charge. I think a problem that some people have when trying to spoof, is that they cannot "receive" packets when spoofing, because the instructions sent to the MAC address are for a different "vendor" than the original card can understand. Sometimes you may get lucky, but I've yet to see it work 100%.
HERE IS THE LETTER FROM CEA THANKS TO EXECUTIONER_STYLE:
Please, do not annoy us for what we have done. We are the type of people who think that in-game, rankings are meaningless.
With this, we have precisely demonstrated what we mean. I don't really understand why you are annoyed with us. We're from the same 'band' (group of people I'm guessing). If you really think we did it for our benefit, why would we put Sinkope at 16 million points when the others are below 400,000?
If we did want to do this for our benefit, we would have been much more subtle, such as not making such a huge points difference.
Once again, we are all in the same boat. With this we have demonstrated that rankings are not worth or mean ****. We love this game, but EA 'touches our balls' (literal translation, they're tying to say that EA ****es them off) a lot with their ****** expansions we have to pay for. Personally, we think they're a bunch of crooks, with an intent to charge for everything (Euro Force was a joke, we can't believe they charged for it). That's why we decided that we wanted to show them that they do things wrong.
Please, do not hate CEA for this. We don't find ourselves higher than others. We're a new clan and we know we've started off with a bad reputation.
I also want to clarify that we have not used any cheat or hack. We haven't modified the game files or used an external application. We simply found a bug in the game, and have exploited it to show to mock EA.
Finally, we ask for forgiveness from those who we've confused or annoyed tonight. Please, don't hate us, we were simply dicking around with what we discovered and we really do want fair gameplay in our server. Please accept our apologies, you are all welcome to our server.
Thank you.
PS: EA: We don't give two ****s if you reset our stats. As long as these bugs aren't fixed, we'll keep making new accounts and giving ourselves massive scores. We at CEA believe you have brought this unto yourselves for trying to milk money out of the consumer, when the original product has major bugs like what we found. We hope that with all the money you make, we'll one day get a free expansion (probably mean content).
CROOKS!
I for one commend them for their efforts. Not that, in the long run, it will have much of an impact (if any at all), but at least they put the time, effort, and accounts into exposing it. EA is a corporate goliath that's slowly but surely devouring the entire gaming market, ruining potentially great games and epic development studios, all in the name of bottom line profits.
Would they have gotten their attention by writing them a nice e-mail? Nope. So at least via this route they garner a tiny bit of attention.
But like others have said, its not necessarily the question of if this will achieve results (as it won't), but the fact that they are willing to stand up up against the mass gaming killer E.A. and letting them know they're tired of their ****. The gesture in and of itself.
