    7600GT, 7900GT, 7900GTX discussion.

I know there is another thread about the avaliablility, but I didn't want it to overshadow and bury the performance benchmarks, so I made another one just for performance discussions.

The 7900GTX beats the X1900XTX in FEAR on 1280x1024 resolution with 4xAA, and keeps up within 3 FPS even in in 2048x1536!!!

This is freakin amazing. We ALL expected the 7900GTX to fall far behind the X1900XT, much less the XTX. But since most gamers use LCDs, and since most LCDs are less than 21", the max resolution we can play on is 1280x1024, so this is perfect.

    Here's the [HardOCP preview:

From what I've seen, this is exactly what nvidia needed to stay competitive with ati.

Give ATI some time they will think of something to counter Nvidias 7900 series. Which im sure they already are.

Not for a while, they just came out with the x1900xt and xtx, both of which are still excellent cards.

They always do, and we all end up winning because of it. Keeps the products fresh and the prices down (relatively). I've owned ATI cards and Nvidia card and have no preference. If you bought the current market leader (in benchmarks) on any given day you can't really go wrong. I'm sure that the fanboys (of either) would disagree, but that is why they are fanboys...

Seems the X1900XTX still beats out the 7900GT (non crossfire/sli mode) in our favorite game, BF2.

personally, I think the 7600GT is going to be THE budget card to get now. I just need to get my butt over to a PCI-E board.

Who was expecting the X1900 XTX to beat the 7900 GTX? ATI looks like it's still king of Battlefield.

The thing is the 7600GT looks awsome but the 7800GT still performs better. Also the 7600GT is cheaper :) Looks like i may go with that card this spring.

yes but the 7600GT performs much better. Heck even on some games the 6600GT performed better than the x1600XT.
