We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.

Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
I just got my dad an evga 7800gt, which retails for (lets say)$350. The new 7900gtx retails for 550. I send them my old gt, and they give me a 350 credit towards the new gtx. Therefore, I get a brand new 550 dollar card for 200.

not really, you still paid 550$ in the end. you ended up losing 550$ and coming out with a 7900gtx, the only good thing is that you dont have to pay the extra 350$ to upgrade. I wonder... has it been 90days.... damn I think 90days just passed crap!
Man, I wish some reviews would pop up already.. I am trying to talk myself out of buying that BFG 7900GTX right this second! *Calmly tries to set wallet down*
More like hide the credit cards. Im in the process of building a new computer and the 7900 sounds good.

That can be true, but I payed about 260 for the card, so thats 90 bucks less than retail, plus I can get the gtx for exactly retail, not 100+ plus that people are paying now.
It's hard looking at these boards today during my lunch break, not to entertain the thought for a breif second. It's the price that shocks me. Same as the 7800GT. BUT, when I bought my GT it came with a free SLi mobo at $120 savings (or $100 depending on who you ask), and looks like I'll be getting a second hand second videocard for about $230. At least that's the price I was qouted at last night, and it's only a couple of weeks old. So I'm hoping that my SLi outpowers a single 7900GT because I've technically got the money to upgrade again and sell my current card lol.
It has a much higher memory clock and core clock speed. Maybe I am missing some other tech. But the 7900GT is looking really nice for me right now. The only thing I noticed it does not stat what the PixelPipelines is for the 7900GT. Does anyone know?

This is why for the last 3+ weeks i have been yelling at people to wait for the 7900GT. Just as you have investigated, the card is identicle in performance to the 7800GTX and is selling on newegg for $299. Its a steal, and anyone who was formerly looking at a 7800GTX needs to jump on this.
7900GT is a little faster even, but right now of all the high end card, the 7900GT is the best $300 card out there, and the 1900XT is the best card in the $400+ range.
I had a discussion with my roomate about whether I should buy this card since I'm currently planning on putting over $1,200 into this computer. Mind you, about half of that is based on whether i turn this computer into a PVR as well (which includes a top of the line PVR card, and two 400GB SATA drives to run in mirror raid for failure proofing). The problem, or question, that I have is this:
Will two 7800GT in SLi beat a single 7900GT OC on standard AIR?
Unfortunately, the question doesn't have an answer YET. The 3D mark scores between a single 7800GT and a SLi setup are a decent increse, but what about real in game peformance? I haven't looked up those specs yet, and will have to defore I fully decide, but in the end I stick with my original statement that even if I were to get the 7900GT, the 8000GTX is sure to come out in a couple of months. By a couple I mean 2, and you know that's true. I'm a poet and didn't even know it =P
Where did you get those numbers? Because they're wrong. I hit the high 80's and sometimes hit 120+ in vanilla BF2 at 1600x1200, all maxed settings, ultra high creative XFI audio, AA off in game and at 4XAA in the nVidia control panel. I'm not dissing you, just curious where you got the numbers from.
On a sweet note, I confirmed the deal for a two week old used 7800GT for $250 including s/h
So this 7900GT thing worked out for me too hehe. What did Bush call it; the trickle down effect?
I decided to take my self out the queue for the 7900gtx and get the 7900gtx superclocked which is overclocked and a little faster. Now I am in queue spot #45 though. Oh well I'll get in a week or so.
