No, it wasn't that. The mobo came with a SATA disk for that. The problem was that until Windows was entirely installed, it couldn't boot to it. But half of installing windows is after you boot to that drive. With an IDE drive in slave position, it still refused to boot to SATA. Unplugging it fixed the problem, and I've been able to plug it back in without any troubles. I now have a 25 second boot to desktop from a cold sit. Literally, I timed it.

There are 3 boot order menus with that board. Main boot, where you can choose between cd-rom, HD, and such. Then there is removable boot order where you choose what removable drives it looks at first. Then there is HD boot order, make sure it is looking to the RAID setup befote the IDE in this menu and you shouldn't have any problems. By default it puts IDE drives infront of SATA so you'll need to change this.

Anyone looking for an AGP board these days should know that the only board on the market with a pcie slot and a fully functioning AGP slot, is the Asrock Dual 939. All others have some off the wall "AGP" setup that only runs at PCI bus speed...

We like that board because it's the only true agp s939 board left, no one makes any high end agp boards. We keep trying to tell you that, please listen.

"high end" and technology that went out 1.5 years ago, doesnt really fall in the same boat.

ASRock makes decent boards now.....they arent some kind of market busting phenomena, but they are good reliable boards.

I just had (have) a hard time believing that a swiss army knife motherboard could peform the way I wanted it to. If they really do make a motherboard that handles 747/939(if memory serves) and agp/pci-e, then that's simply amazing and I bow down to them. Every motherboard should do that if it doesn't affect peformance. I'll have to read up more on that board and company one day. I might be beyond that point myself now, but I do plan to take some computer classes and try to get into computer repair etc, so a board like that could be very helpful.

As always, I appreciate any and all suggestions. Also like I said earlier, sometimes I come off sounding unappreciative or argumentative. I assure you that it's just a mixture of time constraints, mood, alcohol intake, recent gameplay, and just plain trying to get to the point =P

It's not Asrock love. Just statement regarding AGP / PCIE combo boards, there for anyone interested.
