Best Nvidia (Basically if you want dual cards, sli is more tested, supported and reliable) - 7800GTX 512mb

Best ATI (Single Card) - x1900xtx

But the best of the best now is CrossFire x1900's so get 1 x1900XTX and 1 x1900 CE. This is the best combination available right now.

I for one will be buying a crossfire rig soon. It doesn't really matter to me if SLI has been tested more. I've tried enough beta software and various questionable pieces of hardware that I should be able to manage some buggy hardware if it turns out that way. Besides, how else are they going to get the dough to make it better?

The fact that the x1900XTX is also pretty much the fastest card is pretty nice, too. It beats out 7800GTX 512 in the lone card battle, and though I haven't seen any reviews comparing them with two cards, I'd imagine it'd be the same story.

I hope the RD580 boards get here soon. Has anybody heard anything on plans for dual Opteron RD580 boards?

If I bought a system like that... I'd have to get a part time job to pay for it. :laugh:

Huh? Whoa, where are you getting this $2,800 range? Does a crossfire mobo for these things cost $1,600? Because two cards would only cost about $1,200.
