ok so now that the x1900 from ATI is out....im not sure wich is best. what do u all think is teh BEST model/brand of video card? i wanna duel card setup but i cant decide wich to go with.......HELP!

The BEST possible is a X1900 crossfire edition with a X1900XTX, and u gotta get a crossfire mobo, which costs around 200 bucks, so the whole thing will cost u about 1400 dollars. :p

hmm well i have a Asus A8N-32SLI....so if i were to get a pair of 7800GTX....how much of a diffrence is that from if i were to buy a new mobo and a crossfire setup?

well if you want BEST of the BEST 2 512 GTX's would be 1500 assuming you can find them

as far as 256 meg 7800gtx...wich brand/model are the best? i have a Asus a8n32-SLI delux mobo (good one! :P ) so woudl it make sence to use a asus video card? or what oen would u reccomend?

I wouldn't recommend crossfire soley on the basis that SLI is more tested and stable. I am not even going to consider crossfire until the RD580 chipset is released this February. Yes, X1900 XTX is the best card at the moment, but I don't recommend crossfire.

I would buy 1 x1900XTX and then just wait for the new crossfire mobo's to come out then but the x1900 CE and whoop ass, the x1900 XTX is better than the 7800XTX 512, so if you want the best, get x1900, not to mention thatcrossfire actually gets more out of the cards than SLI. But in the end its up to you. (Oh and the x1900 is cheaper)

It looks like ATi takes the lead with the 1900XTX, but Nvidia equipment is easier to come by and put in SLi, more mobos and cards capable of Sli.

The problem with this leap ahead is there are no major game releases requiring such power from a card at this point. the 7800 series came out in the lead when BF2, FEAR, AOE3, etc came out. By the time Nvidia catches up or passes it the timing might be opportune to give Nvidia the better sales numbers.

Yeah, but I think the real problem is the southbridge, so if you can find a board that uses the uli one instead you should be okay.

ok so i think il stick with SLI right now and buy a pair of 7800GTX, im not gonna be horribly picky and want the fastest best thing ever i guess. sence i just go tthis mobo as i gift...dont wanan trash it for a crossfire one....

Asus would be your best pick, followed by XFX, get 2 x 256 MB versions, huge psu and you'll be settled for the next 1.5 years. Don't forget, you need the fastest cpu on earth, else you will not gain all benefits, lol, an FX-55 or up.
