No, no, you misunderstand me. I was stating Tom's is the worst review site of all times. Then also pointing out that review doesn't even have BF2 in it which would make it irrelevant in this, the BF2 forums. Two seperate points.

Tom's Hardware can lead the reader into any conclusion he wants, and only arrives at those conclusions based on what they are being paid.

If you said "cat" that site would write up a review that would make it "dog" for the right price, and would give you all the "reasons" why it was "dog". If "dog" gave them more free stuff, or more kickbacks, then dog it is, and "cat" be damned!

You see alot of bias on the net, and everybody has their favorites, but dang that site is blatant and unprofessional.

For instance Tom's doesn't say "AMD sucks, burn to the ground!" and "The p4 EE is our salvation!" But the innuendo is there. If something is good for the athlon, they then give reasons why it's not important. They usually suggest p4's over athlons.

They do the exact same biased reviews favoring Nvidia over ATI.

I suggest that some of you start thinking for yourselves and stop believing everything you read at a so called "respected" site.

For proof their site blatantly lies to readers:

Alright moving this to hardware forum as it became non related to BF2 General Discussion.

Forget about graphs and the benchmark and all that, do what i do, put both of them in your computer, set them up (not at the same time of course), open BF2, see it yourself. I never rely on any benchmark website in any way UNLESS they are comparing CPUs, as CPU tests include nothing but mathematical calculations only (well they do other tests, but these are what i care). Because you wouldn't believe me if i told you how much a "good" DDR 400 ram would make your gaming experience alot better than a DDR2 667 ram. It just depends on the computer you used, depends if you defrag your harddisk or how often do you do it, depends if you have any porn in your computer and so on. That's why i don't rely on benchmarks. And i am not saying relying on my opinion I am also not saying trust the people in this forum I am also DEFINETLY not saying Anandatech's benchmarks are untrue. I am just saying before i buy a major component to my PC, i always narrow it down to 2 different brands, and i try them on my PC, that's all.

Maybe if you get as close as 1 inch to the screen, and if you have a bionic eye, then you can see the difference.
What "60 FPS barrier"? I can easily see the difference between 60, 85, and 100Hz. I will, in fact, get a blazing headache looking at a monitor @ 60 Hz.

Since BF2 is capped at 100 FPS, high resolutions are needed to show the differences in the benchmarks. This review also includes SLI and CF:

          ATI wins. Again.

For everyone: I'd like to point out that in ALL reviews of video card showing ATI vs nVidia...you should ONLY look at the benchmarks that include eye candy(AA/AF).

IGNORE the pure speed benchmarks...why? Simple, when the reviewers test pure speed mode, the default settings for each card is used.
However, the default settings for nVidia and ATI differ from one another.

The only setting to mention here is the default image quality which nVidia sets to QUALITY mode, while ATI's default is HIGH QUALITY.

So, when you see a "pure speed" benchmark, make note of the fact that the ATI card is processing more information due to its higher defaulted IQ level. So when you see nVidia beating ATI without eye candy, it's a pointless comparison because they are not on equal settings.

ONLY when you activate the AA and AF do the settings become equal and worth comparing.
One, me being a moderator doesn't mean i don't have freedom of speech. I have right to talk about things in any way i like. No need to make fun of people(me) or get hostile. If you have an opinion to share, do it in a mature and constructive way. Why do you care what i think? Is this some sort of Hardware forum or an ATI tech forum? You don't like what i say? Fine! all you need to do is "maranello, i disagree, here is why". You can't do that? Then, that's your immaturity.

You wanna show graphs or show benchmarks? Here we go, i found one just for my taste:

I skipped a lot of other games like FEAR, but they are basically the same. Now look at the Battlefield 2 Benchmarks

            3dmark05

See? Now, then we shouldn't make judgements based on benchmark tests. Because there will always be companies who like very much one product and who will always try to show how good it is.

Before replying to this thread, please read this: I am not saying that Nvidia is better than ATI. Don't think that just because i showed you the pictures of the graphs. I am merely pointing out the reason "why i don't trust "any" benchmark results" that's all. Don't make a post showing how good ATI x1800xt is and so on, i accept that.

There's a more recent review from the same site. I'd pick an ATI card over Nvidia for BF2. I don't care which manufacturer I go with at any particular point in time, but I like to play BF2, so I'd go with ATI at this time.

I actually meant to add that some games do have their own demos too, such as Doom3 as one fine example as you well know.

What does any of those graphs have to do with your statement? Nothing...

But, since you showed the graphs...they don;t have the x1900, so again, what was the point?

I posted a link with x1800 with no x19's...but it was in regards to the guy asking for SLI results, nothing to do with ATI.

I'm not sure you're still on the same page as the rest of us.

                        .
I also wanted to add that it is extremely important to check which drivers are being used in any benchmark review. Often is the case you find one or the other card is using a know n crappy driver and therefore kills the entire review.
Blindly examining any benchmark is a waste of time...research needs to be done beyond just the bars.

I just buy which ever is the best card at the time. I had a geforce 2 mx400 32mb, then a radeon 9800 pro 128mb and now ive got 7800GTX 256mb. As long as they play the games smoothly and are reasonably future proof. im not bothered.

That is very true. To have the old graphs with the previous ATI products vs the current NVIDIA product is just not usefull in this perticular debate.
