I got an RMA authorization from newegg, for the RMA you have to have the stock heatsink on. Ramsinks won't come off (without pulling the ram off), stock heatsink won't go on without ramsinks off.

Luckily I'm getting a decent tax refund so I"ll probably pick up a GTX or somthing.

if your looking for a new vid card grab a X1900XT for 500 bucks, 99.9999% success rate of flashing to XTX just take the heatsink off and look at the ram chips and if the last 4 letters a BJ11 your good to go

I still wouldn't give up on the rma. You can't lose by shipping it off with the missing ram chip(s) and the heat sink on. Worse case senario they'll send it back (or call you up and you can tell them to junk it). I return missing and broken stuff all the time.

It's not that they don't care. There is no "they". It all depends on who opens the package and does the inspection. You've basically got a 25% chance that they won't notice anything broken. I'd say 50/50 but there's probably a checklist they go through. You might get lucky and the person won't know what to look for, or will be lazy, or won't care. Most likely they'll reject the claim but while there's a possability, I'd gamble the shipping cost and try to get your Benjamins back =P

Too late, my baby is already in the back of the garbage truck on the way to the landfill. Trust me they would have noticed all the ram chips (that's what it would have takes toget the ramsinks off) missing.

Damn straight. I would HATE to have problem such as you guys. The closest thing I had was a a corrupted BIOS that would cause me to reformat every 6 months until the point the that each day I would have to reformat in order for my school work. Took many a person and time to figure out it was the BIOS really and the problem wasn't fixable. Got an ABIT uguru aa8xne mobo and have yet to see problems.
