get out of here sir hoppum! his super computer is mine! keep your tricksy hands away from it!

hehe cant wait to run BF2 on high everything on some higher than real life resolution! muahahahah!

so any way norton, is this the same comp that got 8535 3dmark05, or a new one? im confused heh.

me, the wombats just happy with the old 6600GT/ 1024 mb pc3200 , running his little BF2 on medium/high..... hoping that the damn dirty audigy 2 zs will decide to start pumping out subwoofer! tired of only treble sound!

wait, was my name on this forum even combat wombat? maybe not? well if you see the combat wombat online, its me, so say so heh.

it was really annoying, i bought the game the 2nd day it was out, but had to choose The_Combat_Wombat176 as my name because of BF2s messed up naming system.

dont worry, I have felt this many times. I have had my computer for not even 2 months, and I overclocked to 2.5ghz last night. And I turn on my computer this morning, and my OC is gone and everything in my BIOS is set back to default, excwept my boot order. I have had numerous people tell me my CMOS battery died, but then how did it keep the boot order? -_-. Im going to buy a new battery tonite.

I still feel your pain. I've since gotten a new psu and am contemplating a complete replacement of both videocard and motherboard, but someone on here is helping me out with some of my issues and hoping they'll be fixed. If you want to feel at least a little better, this is what my $135 sound card currently sounds like (none of these sounds are from battlefield 2):

I have the BFG nforce4 Ultra mobo. I love it. Hasn't given me any problems. Its my 3rd and longest lasting K8 mobo in the past 6 months. Also lets me overclock my 3500+ to 2.6ghz on the stock HSF when my other motherboards wouldn't boot past 2.4 even at up to 1.5 volts.

I would recommend going to a computer store and spending the extra cash + a warranty. In my experience the #1 computer part that has failed me has been the motherboard, and with 5 minute drive and 20 dollars I can get another BFG tech mobo and another year warranty.

Of course certain ram sticks dont work.

Almost every motherboard sold has a List of Known Good RAM manufactuers you can choose from.

You should stick to those lists if at all possilbe to avoid such problems, however sometimes they just just junk RAM and you have to see what you can do.

Hahahaaaaa..... My luck cannot get any worse. My video card is officially toast now and ineligible for RMA.

Just a note to everyone for future reference, when they say Arctic Silver thermal adhesive is permanent, it is.

Yeah if you ever plan on RMAing a product I would not suggest putting Artic Silver thermal adhesive on it.
