OH YEA!!!! I can't believe it!! I have an AMD 4800+ Dual Core (2.4Ghz) and it owns against a Pentium at 3.7Ghz.. Mega ownage. I thought mine was underpowered... Hehehee.

Ya, probably my CPU could own a P4 3.7 in gaming (just gaming, not multitasking or stuff like that). I don't understand why people buy P4s nowadays, if u want gaming performance, get AMD, if u want multitasking, get a dual core opty or dual core A64, and same if u want multitasking and gamng performance.

Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.7GHz = Pentium 4 4.32GHz in Normal Tasks.

Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.7GHz = Pentium 4 5.13Ghz in Battlefield 2.

Agreed, FX-series is a waste of money and the unlocked multiplier is useless unless you're going for a record and your HyperTransport Bus won't take any more.

I have a 2.4 Ghz Dual Core AMD Processor which seems to own P4s. What if theres a game I want which requires 2.8Ghz or even 3Ghz. Will I still be able to play it or will i have to upgrade? If I wont have to updgrade will I still be able to play on medium to maximum settings? (My specs are in my sig)

A 4800+ stays for a P4 4,8 GHz, so you should be settled for a little. And in future game that Dualcore will give you an extra bonus advantage over others.

I'm happy now.

The reason I got a dual core was of the future advantange in games. My friends were asking why I got a DC because I don't really do multi-tasking.

Um, not exactly, that's more like a dual core 4 ghz P4, cause it's clock speed is 2.4ghz. ANd it's single core counterpart is the 4000+. Just case u have dual cores doesn't mean better gaming performance, it's only better for multitasking, newer games will start to utilize dual core.

i was wondering for gaming is a AMD 3200+ @ 2.0 Ghz equal and just as good as a P4 @ 3.2 Ghz

In Battlefield 2, a 3200+ is like a 3.8Ghz Pentium 4.

Varies from game to game, some games the Athon 64s are only a little bit better, but they're ALWAYS better.
