Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
keep things amd seam to be cheeper last time i looked and have a lot more power in them i only got a amd athlon 2600 but it kicked the ass off the p4 but now im unsure intel got new stuff out more powerfull im sure
Hey! Nice find and thanks for the link to that article! I'd like to add this to the pot as well...
Found a nice article from a major hardware review site, X-Bit Labs, reguarding gaming performance in modern games when it comes to your CPU and GPU. Read the full artice here : http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu...cpu-games.html
Here is a small quote from this review :
Well, it’s time we made some conclusions. The processor tests in new gaming applications once again proved that AMD CPUs boast the best architectures for gaming needs. Almost in all contemporary shooters K8 CPUs provided better results. And sometimes the performance difference between AMD solutions and the rivals reaches unbelievably high rates. The maximum CPUs with NetBurst architecture from Intel can boast is a slight lag behind AMD processors in a few selected games, while in other games the performance rates may be dramatically low. So, the major statement remains the same: gamers should go AMD.
Lastly, for those of you who can not decide whether to upgrade your CPU or your GPU, have a look at the conclusion of this article. Here is what it has to say about this :
I have to stress that we arrived at this conclusion having one of the today’s fastest and most powerful graphics cards in our system: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT. And if this powerful graphics card doesn’t require a super-fast CPU, then what can we say about the mainstream graphics solutions? It means that gamers with the mainstream or slower video subsystem shouldn’t even think of getting a powerful CPU: it will be just a waste of money.
Ya, but the FX-53 has an unlocked FSB multiplier, which can help when overclocking.
If you have crappy ram I guess. I've never needed a higher multi, and if you have the money for an FX chip then you should get the good ram and a non-FX imo. There is no rational explaination you can give me as to why someone should buy and FX chip. I've owned two how about you?
Don't give me for those that don't overclock crap because if you don't overclock you are not getting the most for your money and you shouldn't have an FX chip to begin with.

I wouldn't get one either. I was just pointing out the MINOR difference between the two chips anyways. Yeah, i would rather spend those extra 50 bucks on some better ram as well.

More like extra $400 bucks. (what you would save by not buying an FX and getting the next best non-FX chip.)

Are u serious, the difference between teh FX-53 and the 4000+ was 400 bucks, i thought it was like at most 100 bucks, but i dunno, newegg don't stock FX-53s anymore, they used to have em without HSF, now they're totally gone. And if it really was 400 bucks, i could like buy a 7800GT (and make SLI, assuming i'm buying a system with a GT) and still get 100 bucks left to spend on ram. FX series is overrated, but opterons on the other hand are just awesome. I don't see why people get a FX-57 when u can get an Opteron 154 for about the same price, and it has been tested by AMD and it overclocks like crazy (even if u get a bad stepping).
Well at the time of the FX55/4000+ release the difference was about $400. I don't think the FX53 is available anymore.
Ya, i only saw it when i was shopping for my rig back in june, then in like july it disappeared. It was like 800 bucks for one of those. And i can't believe it the 4000+ is only 335 bucks on newegg. Yeah, it's a big difference, all that for a wimpy multiplier. I could imagine what i could do with all the money saved by not buying the FX series. Anyways, how did the 4000+ get so cheap, seriously, it's a 2.4ghz AMD processor, i expected it to be like 600 bucks. WOw, i havn't checked prices on CPUs in a long time.
EDIT: wow, teh optys are really cheap now. 340 bucks for a opteron 150 (2.4ghz) and only 897 bucks for an opteron 154 (2.8ghz, FX-57 equivelent).
