oh i know it can, but when OCed past GTX clocks it still lacks 4 pipes meaning it still performs worse than the GTX which the XL w/ clocks faster than the XT stock can beat. My friends GTX is OCed 62mhz on the core to 492 and to 1.27ghz mem from 1.2 and i still beat him in games(all source games, BF2, Americas Army and basically any game we play except doom/quake4). The only difference between the XL and XT is 256mb of ram(makes 1-2% difference), slower ram (ram cant oc as well on the XL but mine OCed 600 mhz soooo lol),lower voltage(adjustable via software) and a smaller fan (which cools fine, card never reaches 70* celsius on stock speeds at 100% speed it stays under 60*)

yeah, 4x80 mm case fans, 1x120 mm, Zalman HSF for my processor... it used to be hot as hell like 87-95 until i flipped the 120mm and made it blow air out instead of suck air in, turns out the hear from my GPU was being cycled out the back and sucked back in 'doh! I also cleaned up my wiring so airflow is good. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...4/DSCN2418.jpg my case before i got my X1800 and cleaned up the wiring

that pic is before you cleaned it up? d@mn, mine would make you puke. i live in phx, az so my room temp in the "cold" of winter only goes down to 73-75, but in the hot of summer goes up to 85-88 easily. my case has 7x80mm (3 in front blowing in, 2 out back blowing out and then 2 in the psu) and 1 92mm cpu fan along with the stock x800xtpe hsf and n/b fan. even though i am running a northwood and not a preshot, it still puts off some heat. when i build again, i am going back to amd.....

                    ADMIN!?

STOP taking control of my goddamn thread. Don't you people get it!?

I am SO fed up with this, you bunch of smartasses. Sorry for my language.

If you read any of my posts at all. I ask for your apinion about what I should do in my situation. PCI-E contra 7800GT or AGP contra X850XT, and then later I asked the differents between X850XT and X800.

I didn't ask for anything about OC'ing, since it's the most stuppiest things you can ever do. IN MY APINION! I didn't ask for a GTX nor X1800.

So READ the ****ing posts I made or get the hell out of my thread.

Hey Flanker- I should learn to read? I'm sorry maybe I didnt see the poster of THIS question ask about the 7800 in THIS question. Or maybe you need to keep your mouth shut and open your eyes.

I found a motherboard that meets all my requirements: http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l...67&modelmenu=1

Could be usefull aswell for others.

I don't really give a **** about nVidia nor ATi. Just as long it's a good card contra prize.

                          Now I have two options:

                          1. Buy the motherboard I linked to above, and then buy the Nvidia GeForce 7800GT.

                          2. Buy an ATi Radeon X850XT that already suits my system now.

But since the 7800GT is better and actually my cheapest option with that motherboard, I'll probably go that way.
That sounds like a good idea, GL with the new switch. I know you will enjoy the card.

I'm still thinking, but it's definitly going to be one of those. Option 1 or 2.

Just go with number 1, that way all you have to do next time is upgrade the video card.Oh and DV8 Bucket, you do know there is an edit button, right?
