Nvidia GeForce 7800GT or ATi Radeon X850XT

As it says in the title above. Nvidia GeForce 7800GT or ATi Radeon X850XT.

The Nvidia card will run on a normal x4 motherboard. (IF NOT) -> Look beneath.

The ATi card will run on a x16 motherboard.

Is there a motherboard with PCI-e, Socket 478, x16 and 4xdimms for ram?

If there isn't a motherboard that supports that, then which card should I chose?

Nvidia's or ATi's

What is the differents between ATi Radeon's X800 and X850XT? :)

Core clock slightly different and memory is faster.

well my friend got his x800 doing the same performance as 850xt by installing watercolling and overclocking high i dont know the exact details but i think he installed water cooling and all taht lot it was like a fridge he said

Well, they are fanATIcs, and I hope they're talking about agp, because a pcie x850xt would get completely ripped to shreds by a 7800gt, it wouldn't even be fair.

No one said the 7800 is equal to or worse than the x850xt, he was asking the difference between the 850 and 800.

Before anyone else decides to have 7800 fanboy flame, read the posts above. It's only 1 page and 4 posts total.

Could be usefull aswell for others.

I don't really give a **** about nVidia nor ATi. Just as long it's a good card contra prize.

Now I have two options:

1. Buy the motherboard I linked to above, and then buy the Nvidia GeForce 7800GT.

2. Buy an ATi Radeon X850XT that already suits my system now.

But since the 7800GT is better and actually my cheapest option with that motherboard, I'll probably go that way.
