One thing im ordering from Canada

So at NCIX there isnt a really cheap Crucial Ballistix PC4000...

And ill think about the 3700+ but not the opty dont want an opty... even though they are OCing gods...

If i can get the 4000+ to 2.6 (FX-55 performance) or 2.8 (FX-57 performance) ill be more then happy... so not wanting to OC all the way yet until i can read more indepth...

well, there is only 200mhz difference between a 3700+ and 4000+.

If theres alot of money to be saved, then go ahead order the 3700+.

I wont have the time to get the Hiper PSU... and i am getting the powerstream if you didnt read the first post...

the 200mhz difference isnt that much...

ill think about it... its really up in ther air right now.... since im going to start ordering in january

Optys are known to be good for gaming thats why didnt opt for one... people are saying dont use them towards a gaming rig...

Would you mind telling me where you heard/read this? The opterons are just put through a more rigorous test process. In other words, they're the best of a batch.

I think the first would definatley be faster, but the second one migh oc higher, I'd go for the first one.

I'm gonna say one more thing, and then I'll let other people have their say. You might wanna look for a hd that has a 16mb cache, it should give you a nice speed boost, since drives with a 16mb cache perform as well as a 10k raptor.

For most applications there is little difference between 8Mb and 16Mb cache. The only time you might see a difference is when working with very small files. You gain more by increasing rotational speed than cache size. 16 Mb cache drives do not perform as well as 10K drives.

What would be the best amount of HD space (how many gfb) i would need for gaming,homework, and just surfing, needs room for music & pics...

Will the 250gb i have on there right now be good enough?

so then why are people getting these go d d amn raptors... no point to them especially if your a student... they should make them around 100gb then maybe i would buy it but 74gb is just plain not worth it IMO...

Whenever I get a netflix movie I really like, I copy it (thank you dual layer dvd's!), and I haven't deleted any iso's yet.

ANYWAY... back to the computer i have only around a 80gb over here i believe and it takes most of the videos and games i can throw at it so i think its good but im sure that ill need the 250gb as 1 of my friends bought a terabyte storage unit and copied over his 68gb worth of pictures from his computer to there... and i mod a forum with him and we do have ALOT of pics..
