I think most people here use one, and it is still a very good audio card, you won't be dissapointed with it.

LIke somebody said, i think the optys would be a better CPU (they overclock like mad, especialy with a CABYE or CABNE stepping. Here's the links: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...anufacture=AMD

Those two are good, the second one is more expensive, but better. If you get a CABNE or CABYE stepping, expect over 3ghz on stock HSF for either of them.

im not planning to OC the 4000+ that much

don't get it, why buy super memory if you ain't going to OC the CPU a lot .

I have a 4000+ San diego to, it has a Zalman 9500 cooler on it and get this, it runs curently on 2.6Ghz and stressed it won't even come over 38 degrees!!! those 4000+ san diego cores can handle even much more but my memory isn;t good enough to keep up in my case

The 2z is fine for what he wants, and there really is no performance gain from raiding two drives over the one I picked out.

LOL in your opinion there is no performace gain, The Cumlative advantage of each performance gain adds up, makes the difference between a good system and a kick ass system, But hell what would I know!.

The 2zs is fine, however I use on the Xfi on another non nvidia chipset rig and Its an 100% improvement.

RAID cannot provide a performance boost in all applications. This statement is especially true with typical desktop application users and gamers. Most desktop applications and games place performance emphasis on the buffer startegy and seek performance of the disk(s). Increasing raw sustained transfer rate shows little gains for desktop users and gamers, as most files that they access are typically very small anyway. Disk striping using RAID-0 increases linear transfer performance, not buffer and seek performance. As a result, disk striping using RAID-0 shows little to no performance gain in most desktop applications and games, although there are exceptions. For desktop users and gamers with high performance as a goal, it is better to buy a faster and more expensive single disk than it is to run two slower drives in RAID-0.

Actually the difference between a good system and a kickass system is Personall Preference and Money!

Having 4gb of RAM wont do good and slow down your system which is something you have...

I will be using a headset for most of the time so a really really good sound card will not be necessary...

You got any benchmarks or screenies?

Yes i am planning to OC but people arent saying it OCs not that much and im sure the RAM will help... but you think i could get FX-57 performance?

He already said he didn't want or be able to afford an x-fi, so just give it a rest. I also notice that you have populated all 4 memory slots, meaning you can only run at ddr 333 and at a 2t command rate, so the extra ram is really hampering you.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong, don't worry, that's what i USED to think (until like 5 days ago). Inorder to overclock the most, you want the highest speed mem, as in like PC4000>PC3200 in overclocking, they have worse mem timings, but you can overclock more. If you don't intend to OC but you stil want good performance, you get mem with tight timings, tight timings is good for non-OCers, higher mem speed is for overclockers.

^^^ correct thats what i was trying to say... but if he had some of the new MOBOs (ex. DFI Ultra-D Expert) that support 1t then im sure he'd get a real boost...

With AMD, dividers are the key. Speed isn't everything.
If you want a cpu with headroom (for overclocking), go for an opty. The price drop made them very affordable.
If you can afford the x-fi, get it. If you don't, the audigy 2 zs is a fine card (I have one). It hasn't given me any problems (creative's drivers, however, tend to act in strange and mysterious ways).

Optys are known to be good for gaming thats why didnt opt for one... people are saying dont use them towards a gaming rig...

Im staying with the 4000+ San Diego... and thats final...

Have you heard both the Audigy2 ZS and X-FI? i think there wouldnt be a huge difference... so why pay another 100$?

Yes... thats the reaso for the DFI Lanparty and the Very Quality 2gb RAM... im not planning to OC the 4000+ that much but im going to see if i can unlock some pipelines in the 7800GT...

If youre going to OC, get a 3700+ or a Opteron 148 instead.

Apart from that, everything looks good.

You may want Crucial ballistix PC4000 instead mate.
