Yeah, but the guy had to use liquid nitrogen to do it. So I don't think ati will be catching up this gen. Maybe next, but I doubt it.

          -Whats a protocal

Something older that has versions based off it. Like a series of somethings based off one thing.

protocol:The 'language' spoken between computers to help them exchange information. More technically, it is a formal description of message formats and the rules that two computers must follow in order to exchange those messages.

My old 9800 pro still lives even today in my GF's system, awesome card and I'd definately buy ATI again.

I'm not a fanboy, I buy whatever is best at the time of upgrading.
GF as in girlfriend? because I gave my overclocked 9800pro to my girlfriend  anyway...as long as ATI makes red cards i'm buying from them and when nvidia makes red cards thats when I will buy from them.

Don't be so foolish. I doubt ATi will magically release something that no one can match. ATi and nVidia develop similar tech constantly. Performance wise, not architecture wise. Both companies have insiders and they know what each one is doing. Why do you think nvidia magically releases their 512mb card same time as ATi by coinsidence?

What is possible is for a company to take a radical approach, such as nvidia did with SLi. Like someone mentioned before, ATi knew all about it but didn't think there would be a market big enough for it. Plus the fact that nvidia already developed mobo chipsets while ATi only started now with XPRESS mobos. But I doubt that simply releasing a card with high clock speeds is gonna be the so called "solution."

P.S. ATI you are pathetic, sorry but why dont you look at it from the customer prespective.
In my opinion ATI is doing well with their technology. They have managed to change their production to 0.9nm cores. They have developed a new core which has a lot of new technology. They had a problem which prevented them from utilizing all the pipelines of their new core but instead they clocked the cards higher in order to be competitive. Atleast they have a product that can be considered competition to the Nvidia counterparts. Not long ago Nvidia released a series of 3D cards called FX. The top models where really expensive, big and noisy and performed like utter crap in DX9. You can get most of these models thrown after you nowadays..

First off records hold that ATI's card tend to do a little better. This is the first time they have released before Nvidia, and they got killed. The X850XT out preforms the 6800 Ultra which is what it was made to compete with. The 9800XT out preformed the 5900 Ultra as well. So historically ATI cards have not "sucked".
LOOK WHO THE F IS TALKING, i at least i had one letter wrong i think you well lets not say anything more, because apparently all you do is critise other people, and you are the the one talking about age?? You started to comment my spelling so how old are you Knucklehead?

You're critising a company that has made millions and millions of dollars in the market of competitive graphics. I'm sure they know a lot better then anyone else just how deep a **** they are in.

Yeah, never make fun of somebody or something that is better than you too much. I bet you couldn't make a good vid card (not to you King, this post is directed to papi) at all. So just shut up, and go to the rant section.

I know you were not directing this at me but a person does not make them a machine does, look at that circuit board with all the resistors and capacitors, heh. The person only designs them, and who knows if he cannot. You guys are fighting with a person that had no beef with you before you came in but now you take offense that a Ati user is dissatisfied. Just be quiet if you dont have constructive criticism.

This doesn't mean you can't make threads like this. What's the point of having a BF2 forum, I'm sure DICE knows every single issue with the game... I mean they made it?
