    Re: Discusted with ATI

This forum isn't supported or run by DICE/EA or any other company. On top of that unlike video cards, software can be changed to perform better. While drivers will work some magic they cannot physically change the hardware. That is what I was refering to. You cannot compare apples to oranges.

This thread pertains to something that cannot be changed unless a new card is released.

Why don’t you make me, I like how some people in here act so tough? Again I was just expressing my dissatisfaction with ATI because the only cards that I ever own have been ATI, so I am very disappointed.

Thats good and all, but there is a specific section of the forums for that.

Anyways here is a graphics comparison card for F.E.A.R., as of right now the most graphically advanced pc game on the market. Note the new 7800 GTX 512MB RAM and 6800GS are not on the comparison chart. (Judge for yourself).

So nVidia owns Ati right now, but hey who knows what the future holds. I do own a 9200 card that i got a while ago and i was so pumped. And also note again that the new nVidia 7800 is not on here, which is such a huge jump from the old 7800 GTX that anandtech.com thinks it should be its own card. The new 7800 with 512 VRAM has a 27% perfamnce increase over the older protocal.

If you want to go deeper here is the article the picture wa derieved from.

I know this is from 2 pages back... but did you not look one page forward?

why compare results without AA/AF honestly who the hell buys a 500-700 dollar GPU and doesnt use AA and AF?

Oops didn't see it, looks like Ati pretty much won with that. I'm not a fanboy or nothing but the 512MB 7800 GTX isn't there which has a 27% increase over the old one. Hey by the way thanks for posting that second one.

Think about this, none of those cards with very high resolution seem to perform very well. Why would someone spend that kind of money on those cards is they only get around 20-35 fps.

I know its frustrating, like when the X800 came out it OWNED every game out at the time, but the 7800 and X1800 come out and run some of these games at less than 30 fps... it sucks, and it also means you have to upgrade because if the new stuff has a hard time... your old stuff sure as hell will

On your next upgrade switch to NVidia.
You don't have to tell me twice! I've been hardcore ATI for about 7 years, and I am sick of ATI, and their crap support! BFG 7800GTX 512mb here I come!

It's technically smaller than the one Arctic Silencer has and that's been used for both nvidia cards (ie asus) and ati (ie his). So it's nothing out of the ordinary.

That hsf was originally used on the quadro cards, and I hope to god they don't get any bigger.

No one will buy either the 7800GTX or X1800XT to run a game on 800x600 so can we throw those benchmarks outt he window and look at 1280x1024 and 1600x1200? Now if we look at those, the X1800XT has a 6 and 3 fps improvement over the 7800GTX.

The question is, are you willing to pay $100 more for 3 more FPS?
