Wow how old are you, like 10? Go play with yourself, unless you have something to add to the conversation.

First off records hold that ATI's card tend to do a little better. This is the first time they have released before Nvidia, and they got killed. The X850XT out preforms the 6800 Ultra which is what it was made to compete with. The 9800XT out preformed the 5900 Ultra as well. So historically ATI cards have not "sucked".

It'd be kinda sad if they weren't better than them (and they still aeren't in many cases) since they had 6 months to "beef 'em up..."

And no, I'm not 10, I'm 16, and I just find it infinitely amusing that you OWNED yourself while trying to correct your own grammar. Go take a english class before you start correcting people's spelling.

First off, if you're going to rant, try and spell things right. Discusted isn't a word, however diguested is.
Haha these are the type of people that crack me up. They're all mad and yet arrogant themselves.

Anyways here is a graphics comparison card for F.E.A.R., as of right now the most graphically advanced pc game on the market. Note the new 7800 GTX 512MB RAM and 6800GS are not on the comparison chart. (Judge for yourself).

So nVidia owns Ati right now, but hey who knows what the future holds. I do own a 9200 card that i got a while ago and i was so pumped. And also note again that the new nVidia 7800 is not on here, which is such a huge jump from the old 7800 GTX that anandtech.com thinks it should be its own card. The new 7800 with 512 VRAM has a 27% perfamnce increase over the older protocal.

If you want to go deeper here is the article the picture wa derieved from.

just be glad there are at least 2 really good makers out there to compete
so we benefit from better cards and cheaper prices if you're an ati fan no one will change your mind that nvidia is better and vice versa
YEah, just like that weird commercial from lending tree or something: "When Banks Compete, You Win!" Well, change banks to graphics card companies, and that's why we arn't paying 1000 bucks for a vid card atm.

Yeah, but i wanna know the first person on the forum to buy the 7800GTX at 750 bucks or more. I'll probably laugh and say they wasted their money though.

The X850XT/PE was made to compete with the 6800 Ultra. Prior to the X850XT series it was the 9XXX series, so it wouldn't be logical because everyone knows that the 9XXX series was not meant to compete against the 6XXX series, but rather the 5XXX series from Nvidia.

That being said the X1800XT was released early. I think ATI was looking to really break Nvidia with it, but instead Nvidia fired back with this beast of a card. Which is why I am GUESSING that ATI will fire back with more pipes on its next series of cards, which I will be bold and dub the X19XX series.
Prior to the x850 it was the 9xxx series? WTF are you on? When nvidia released the 6 series cards, ati released the x800 series at the same time. The x850 came out much later than that and it was not to compete with the Ultra, it was more powerful than the ultra... nvidia didn't release another card because they launched SLi at that same time.

Yeah X800XTPE was against ultra, although the ultra was generally better. THe X850 was too late, it took the crown from the ultra, but then 2xUltras in SLi retook the crown.

                            Re: Discusted with ATI

I find that these days most of the cards bring generally the same performance. I mean 5-10 fps diference could be a lot from one point of view but isn't much from another. I believe that it's best to buy whatever is out for the better price. I mean i highly doubt if u buy the x1800s or the 7800's you'd be dissapointed enough to switch between them. If you remember the x800s and 6800s were so close in performance that the arguments just created a ton of ATi and nvidia fanboys. But now since ati released later and because of the prices and SLi it's become more about what you can get cheaper.

I personally only buy nvidia because of the bad experience that I had with Ati. So do other people only vice versa with ATi. So, that's the only way you can be disgusted by ATi, if you're a fanboy that's been waiting for this forever and you're not happy. Otherwise be happy, more competition=lower prices, more inovation, better products.

I would wait a little while with ATI, they just broke the 1ghz barrier on their boards and they're going to be the fastest around once they get all the technical stuff worked out with cooling.
