This new card is just insane...but for that price, I think a pair of 7800GT's might do a better job price/performance wise...unless the e-**** is what you strive for =P

Nowhere do I state that ATI is better. You said the 7800 GTX 512 will be the best card until the G8's. I said how do you know ATI won't have a better card before then? Please quote where I say any ATI card is better than this 7800 GTX 512. I am buying this card. Actually it would be much better to buy 1 7800GTX 512 than 2 GTXs or GTs. These cards are much more futureproof than buying 2 256mb cards. Games like FEAR are showing dramatic increases in FPS with a 512mb card. I do suggest waiting a month for the prices to drop (and they will).

Call me a fanboy call me whatever you want but those numbers are totally skewed. I have the X850XT PE on standard speeds and I get way higher then 39 FPS on 1280x1024.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the 7800GTX 512 doesn't deliver as promised because the truth is ATI screwed themselves by not releasing a card with more pipelines. However I wouldn't be surprised to see an X1900XT with more pipe come out of ATI. They can't just sit there, trust me they will fire back.

I think they use some kind of timedemo in these tests. Problem is they can use any map and any surroundings to get their results.

Not to mention you can get 2 in SLi. BTW 20fps average is a big diference.

We use a custom demo and the DICE supplied demo.cmd (modified to suit our needs) in order to benchmark this game.
