A bit more than this forum expected, at $750, it still destroys the competition with a 550MHz Core speed and 1700MHz Memory speed.

This will be the king of videocards until the GeForce 8s come out.

You guys have the nerve to call me a fanboy. Why exclude the X1800 XT PE, or the R580? I still don't agree that it destroys the X1800 XT, but is slightly better gaining a 10-15 fps lead in most games.

I will be buying this card once the prices drop a bit to a sane level.

Not to mention you can get 2 in SLi. BTW 20fps average is a big diference.

You take one review with one result and post that as proof? Ok lets use BF2 as an example since it's relevant to this forum. Here are the results from all the reviews that show average fps 1600 x 1200 with 4xAA/AF:

7800 GTX 512 / X800 XT 512

anandtech: 66.2 / 57.3
tech report: 84.6 / 77.5
hard OCP: 58.3 / 58.6
Firing Squad: 78.5 / 73.1

That is an average just over 7 fps in favor of the GTX 512. So me saying 10-15 fps was being generous. It's funny how people post parts of facts to make people see thier view.

still not enough to justify the price tag. I had one in my shopping cart this morning and was like WTF!!! I have a 7800GTX right now and I get better framerates then what these sites were getting on their 7800GTX.

After reading the reviews a few of you should put your foot in your mouths. The GTX 512 does not crush anything, and actually I was expecting more from this card. It is the top dog, but not by as much as I had hoped.

Im in the same position (even though I just got a 7800GTX) but Ill wait. I can sell the 7800GTX to someone for like 350$ in a month or 2.
