Dude, thats an XtremeSystems guy. They're known for having...guess what...Extreme Systems...

No way a regular Joe is gonna get more than 100MHz outta the Core of that card. If you just look at one card, it isn't going to tell about all the other cards too. What happened to the ridiculous voltage and amazing heat of the rest of the 99% of X1800s?

so true... i would have been a potential buyer if it was released then... but ati didnt have anything that could go against the 7800gtx at the time so it looks like ati lost a customer.

Its a little early to say SLI will "still" own crossfire considering we haven't seen a crossfire X1800 system

CrossFire blows feral mountain goats. HardOcp just did an article saying CrossFire has a major drawback in that you are FORCED to a refresh rate of 60hz when using resolutions of 1600x1200 or greater.

You read correctly, 60hz max, which we all know would be pointless! As that resolution and higher is the only reason to have SLI/CrossFire(not that anyone should anyway).

the 60 MHZ max is with the X8XX series cards, the 60 MHZ cap will not be there with the X1K cards

See the thing is an x850 is the equivalent top the 6800. Now if 2 of these cards (Which are considered average.) are almost whipping nvidias best consider dual x1800xls in crossfire....

I'll let that sink in for a little while...............................

Done? ok heres a direct quote:

"You can see in the benchmarks that CrossFire will give NVIDIA's SLI a run for its money. However, in applications like 3DMark 2003 and 2005, the scores are impacted by factors other than the actual frames per second. For some reason, the scores do not follow the linear increase in performance that are observed in all of the real world game benchmarks.

When looking at the performance on the various engines, we can see that the rest of the scores are from games doing what they do best: playing."

And all the benchies and info can be found in this single article:

No I am not a fanboy. I have a 6600GT running in my computer right at this very second. The facts are there.

ALSO: For those who say that the 7800GTX is more powerful than the x1800XT right out the box...

              Check these Benchies:

That is good to hear. I couldn't believe they made it that way all this time until just the last few days...

No one told you Tom's Hardware Guide was ATi biased? I'll let THAT sink in. As soon as I see ATi + THG, it = no cred.

                    And look at these.

There no "for some reason" about it for the 3DMark scores. The 7800GTX plain owns the X850XT, crossfire or not.

I believe I just owned you at your own game.

Um, far cry and Doom are totally Nvidia dominated games, so you didn't, so we could pick out splinter cell and Half-Life 2 and show you how games are biased. Plus, i dunno what this guy is saying, cause even i, a somewhat ati fan would rather have a GTX than 2xX850XTPE in crossfire. So you won against him, but against a X1800XT in benchmarks not nvidiia biased (as in Direct 3D games) it would even out. Also i have no idea again why again, but X1xxx series are doing realy well in 3dmark05, not that it matters, but just to point out.

Man I would just go with the 2 x 7800gtx 512mb, without iven thinking coz Nvidia has such a better service, quality and all that good stuff + Nvidia has a better reputation then Ati....FOR A FAQ! 2000$ just for 2 cards damn.....

PCIe, why would you even consider agp? It's completley dead.
