There aren't for individual purchase. Only in a Dell XPS 600 can you get that chipset, as of now.

Im doing this just because the idea is ridiculous and Ive been wondering if someone actually had the cash to dish out for this type of system:

You want something that will own, here it is:
Processor: 2x AMD Opteron 275 (Basically an FX with more HT links)
Motherboard: Tyan K8WE
Memory: 8x 1GB DDR400 (Corsair XMS Registered or OCZ Titanium)
Videocards: EVGA 7800GTX KO Edition
PSU: Turbo-Cool 850 SSI (probably own those two 500 u wanted)
Harddrives: 5x WD Raptor (74GB) @ RAID 3
^^^ Or go something SCSI and get a controller for it, but I like clean SATA cables
Sound: SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS
Speakers: Logitech Z-5500 (thats if I had to buy them, I build my own audio systems for fun)
Mouse&Keyboard: Logitech G5 (or if u want cordless G7) and Logitech G15
Case&Cooling: No Idea...I dont know whats going to fit everything, or the best cooling system. I dont do liquid so I dont know the best, my friends use Koolance so I guess I'd recommend them

Using retail figures, thats going to cost a pretty penny the processors alone are like $1G a piece, but your going to have a quad processor system (theoretically 8.8Ghz)...how many ppl are going to have those?!

If you want to go a little further, invest in some more sticks of RAM and
get a RAM disk (like Gigabyte i-RAM) and see an even larger performance boost.

Now THAT'S what I call feedback, but you opened a can of worms. Questions:
1. How does the RAM you mentioned compare to Dual channel DDR2-667MHz SDRAM
2. RAM disk. Call me ignorant, but what is that. Heard of it before......
3. What's the KO edition card. (yeah, I know I can do a search, but WDU know?
4. The Opteron chips...talk to me here...

The thing is, I own a business that's got nine computers and a server I just had to upgrade, which is irritating. So after doing that, investing in this thing for personally use is like...."dropping a brick in the Grand Canyon". lol

Oh yeah....I'm looking to WASTE money....also any more suggestions.

this machine runs BF2 insane quality settings and pumps out 95-100fps in full servers,
it also handles COD2 with a graphical experience to surpass any other game ive seen

It is only 4GB in size, but it is very quick, unforunatly it gets bottlenecked at the SATA connection to the mobo, so at the moment there isnt that big of an increase in speed, but it will definatly pick up and i think will be then next big thing.

The 8Gb of RAM that he said is very good, it will run Dual Chanel. Do not get SDRAM, DDR is far faster and DDR 2 and DDR 3 are way better with speed and latency.

The KO edition... i have no idea what that is.. and i havnt had time to look it up.

O YEA! Operon.. lol.. thats all i can say.. haha... have fun.. if you get this system, you have to get sum pics up on here.. thats gonna be a sweeeeeeet rig!

Alrighty. First. AMD - Does not support more then PC3200 (aka DDR400), so you cant use DDR2 and DDR3 is only on video cards I think. If you look at research, you would also understand that low timing DDR (2-2-2-5 OR LESS NOW!!!) can easily compete with DDR2 stuff....IMO its just Intel forcing the consumers to "upgrade" what really does not need to be upgraded at this point. The memory sure as hell isnt going to be a bottleneck in this system unless its a smaller amount or high-timing (value) crap.

Second, the EVGA 7800GTX KO card. KO = Of course "KnockOut", basically bcz this card knocks out the competition. Lifetime warranty, and the highest factory overclocks out there (plus it overclocks even further to like a 500mhz core and 1350 on the RAM...iNsAnE) Although the card drains a few more watts of power, it actually runs cooler and quieter then most of the competition as well.

Lastly, the main reason the Opteron (yes it has a "t" in it ) is the choice is because the mobo is Socket 940 (not the usual 939). If you read those specs on those Opterons, they are practically indentical to FX structure, just they have a bit more bandwith. At the same time however, your not getting FX-57s which are pretty much the best you can do for single-threaded.

I didnt see the original poster wanted more info on the Opty processors. Heres a quik blurb on them:

"AMD's Opteron 275 is basically the same processor as the Athlon 64 FX, but it sports more Hyper-Transport links for a faster connection between the CPU cores and everything else plugged into the motherboard. Each of the two processor cores features 1MB of L2 and its own on-die memory controller (this little touch is what puts AMD processors ahead of P4s in gaming performance)"

So, if you dont want to go this route, you would have to get an different mobo (DFI LanParty SLI-DR is purty pimp), you would have to lower the RAM, lower a lot of things. I only know of dual processor motherboards using Socket 940, thus your choice would be either a dual core Xeon or a dual core Opty....and its pretty much evident that the Opty will wipe the Xeon of the planet in gaming.

Quite possibly the single core rig would run BF2 faster, because it is a single threaded application, but as you see across the boards, several users already have done that. If you want something that is basically borderline insane and completely unnecessary, then this is the rig. When someone says their FX-57 system is overclocked to 3.0ghz.....you turn around and say your rig is stock 8.8ghz. But also its a pretty future proof system, as most stuff will be moving to multi-threaded. You look @ AMD right now and they are trying to make little to no improvements to mainsteam single-core Athlon 64s, and Intel is already planning on dualcore laptop processors. So the future is obviously multi-core...your just going to be there before everyone else is.

ALSO....I forgot, the mobo (the Tyan K8WE) actually supports SCSI natively (im pretty sure its 68pin)! So perhaps change to 2 15K Cheetahs and 2 WD Raptors (Raid 0).....*drools*

For 3DMark05? FX-57 because its a single threaded bench. Watch for 06 or 07 or whatever are the next benchies to have multithreaded benches...in which case the FX-57 will get owned by dual-core solutions.

I told you what a pimp system would be. I dont think your going to be able to break 19,000+ just because of the limits of everything today. Maybe try when the new ATi cards come out, get a crossfire ready motherboard, and get an FX-57. Otherwise, just copy the tops systems, that are all nearly identical.
