You don't know how right you are. Indeed we don't have "Business Interruption", and we had to postpone nine weddings at the Bella (www.bellaterrazza.com), Polo Grounds, and other facilities. These poor brides were in tears. Luckily the loss will be spread out over a couple of months. What's sad is that I waited to the last minute to get prepared and didn't have any problems....where the people who left early got stuck in a 100 mile (no exageration) inching traffic jam, many out of gas and in the heat for 24-28 hours...no food, no water. Right now as we speak, my employees that run the Indian restaurant we have are in a speculated 30 hour jam on the way back in from Dallas. The entire time...both times...I've been in constant communication many of them via cell. It's not good. If you're religious, keep your prayers with these guys.

Never brag about having Pentium for gaming, general rule, also if you do some research into their 'HT' technology you'll find out it sucks.

I bet your rig will load a mean Photoshop CS or do some hella fast Bryce renders though!

interesting enough he let someone borrow his camera and this person conveniently had to be evacuated due to the hurricane. if he has the money for all this, i'm sure another $200 isn't going to hurt him. also, what a way to waste money on a piece of **** game.

Scuzzy is geek speak for SCSI.

Also if you are needing a Dual core AMD's 4800 + X2 would have been my choice over Intel. This is especially the case if you are going to get the NF4 chipset. The only real benefit of an Intel would be the more stable INtel chipset.

I forgot to add, dual cores are completely pointless except for certain APPS.

LOL. Now THAT's what I call productive feedback (Also to the last three posts). Though I halfway posted the thread in jest, locked into the house, I seriously did want to get some last minute thoughts before blowing this wad. And yes, since I'm cheating by starting with my editing suite for gaming, I might as well take this system all the way. so the fx57 is the way to go? Also, any other things I might be missing?
I do have photoshop on it...yeah Maya renders sweetly, though I'm using the native engine. I didn't upgrade to the Renderman one. I'm loading Maya Complete onto the dual Apples, making it four processors, with the RAID. I CAN'T wait to see the render power of that one!

I like my rig, so far so good with great gaming performance, i swapped out the MSI board for a DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI. So far this thing fly's and i see better performance over my Old MSI board.

I didn't know there were any boards as of yet that had dual X16 lanes for SLI. I thought you just had to split them to 2 8x?

There aren't for individual purchase. Only in a Dell XPS 600 can you get that chipset, as of now.

at topic starter, two big mistakes in your machine

1 : take an AMD FX 55 or 57 instead of that intel
2 : 2 7800GTX in SLI are stupid because it costs tons and your CPU bottlenecks them, you are better now putting one 7800GTX in and put the saved money away when there is cumming a much faster card like next year or so

The BIOS, the RAM chipchipsets, as well as the video cards themselves will be overclocked to max past normal temp.

How exactly do you intend to overclock your BIOS?!? Do you even know what a BIOS is and what it does? :laugh:

Yeah, I posted earlier that I was planning on getting the Dell 600 stripped down and adding my RAM for that exact reason (dual X16 lanes for SLI), etc. However NOW the dual X16 lanes sounds desirable, but not the intell chipset, Hypnosis, great specs. I was getting the dual power supplies, one for the setup, one for the Vapor chill...however the 850 watt power suppy I suppose would work for both...I'm not an electrician. And as far as the comment about saving the money on the dual 7800 Gxs and only getting one, it's only an extra $400.00...I'm willing to spare it even though it kicks in an extra 25%. Tell you what. Sparing no expense, what would consider the ultimate machine?
